  1. If I had a spare 2K lying around I'd scoop this up and have the ct removed if possible. GLWTS
  2. Yellow does seem an appropriate color for a character called The Whizzer.
  3. This is the grail that I own (it's a CGC 4.0). The ultimate grail that I will likely own is an FF1, the ultimate grails I will never own would be a Marvel Mystery 1 or Tec 27.
  4. I’m pretty good at calling mid-grade CGC and I doubt you’d have done better than 4.0 with them
  5. Yikes, I didn't think it'd be that bad. And I had to fight to get that six hundy back. This was in '08 I think, possibly '07.
  6. My biggest regret of the last 10 years is what brought me to the boards. Bought an AF15 on eBay for $600, and someone here reached out to me to tell me it very likely had a repro cover. It did. Took awhile but I eventually got my $600 back. Wish I'd hung onto it as now I'm pretty sure even a coverless version goes for quite a bit more than that right now.
  7. If this one page is worth 3/4 of a million dollars, did anyone ever estimate the value of the entire AF15 Spidey story at the LOC? $10,000,000?
  8. If you end up buying IH181 raw, don't forget to check for the value stamp.
  9. You really need to be the squeakiest wheel ever on this, the whole situation is completely ridiculous. Make them desperate to get you off their backs.
  10. Restoration is restoring a book towards an ideal pristine state. Whether parts were added, subtracted or manipulated, those are all restorative efforts. In my opinion there are two legitimate issues with pressing: 1. The potential for unforeseen consequences to the act of pressing (I think none but only time will tell, and I'm not taking into account bad press jobs) 2. A sort of loss of virginity in terms of a comic existing in its natural, unmanipulated state
  11. I bought a panini that had undisclosed pressing.
  12. 6.0 as a guess, not sure how hard they hammer tanning along the edges these days. Nice corners, hopefully not too nice.
  13. I regret selling off my entire collection back in the early 80s, near complete set of Marvel heroes and horror as well as hundreds of hg DC hero books from early 60s
  14. Actually it says "all offers will be consider"
  15. This suggest a great app: a listing of books with likely candidates for cut-outs, like MVS, pinups, maybe splash centerfolds. Coupons are ubiquitous so they probably wouldn't work out.
