  1. I love-love-LOVE that Namor's squeeze lives in a fishbowl.
  2. I had heard GRR Martin (Game of Thrones) had published letters in FF as a kid. Here's one, just as whiny and pedantic as you'd expect:
  3. So I guess by this point (issue 30-something) ol' Jack hadn't fully developed his patented Kirby Dots yet. I'll try to pinpoint their exact moment of origin (assuming that happened in the FF). Here is a formative example, not quite there yet:
  4. I thought I'd seen all the iterations of Iron man, but I guess I missed this version of him sporting a wicked Philly Fade:
  5. Fantastic Four Panel Appreciation So I was recently given a copy of Marvel’s Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol. II, which has all my favorite old FF stories from back in the day. As a kid my FF collection went from #1-about #220, minus a few issues. I haven’t read any of these stories in 40 years, so on Fathers’ Day I settled in to read again. I found many panels to be really amusing in various ways, so I started snapping pics and thought I’d share my thoughts. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Here's Reed putting the sexist smackdown on the little woman. He looks a little wasted with that lazy eye.
  6. I sure hope they catch this scumbag to brighten your dreary existence living in that hellhole. But seriously, good luck man! They'll get him.
  7. I don't really track prices as I buy maybe one book per year...what kind of Avengers #4 could he get for that money?
  8. I'm sure he'd be happy to take your $4,500, but that's as far as it'd go.
  9. Any interest in original 12" GI Joes? I am the OO of about 40 GI Joes from 1964-74. They are in decent but played-with condition. I have plenty of gear, some vehicles and other accessories, footlockers, even a couple of original boxes. I'd like to trade these for a low-grade Marvel key like FF1 or similar. It'll be a whole weekend's job getting them out of storage, taking pics and other pre-sale prep, so before going down that path, do you guys think there'd be any interest or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks!
  10. Isn't that what happens to Jack Lemon in Glengarry Glenross?
  11. Howard the Duck #1, which was actually a pretty hot book off-and-on for a few years.
  12. I'm curious what the chain of events would be if when this turns up. You get a call from a dealer who just sold this page and he gives you the customer's contact info. Did you take the $100 payout, and does that mean you forfeit all claim to the page? Do you get it back, the dealer refunds the buyer, and the dealer eats his cost assuming he doesn't have the thief-seller's correct info? Good luck and keep us all posted, the eyes and ears of this board are legion and have accomplished miracles in the past.
  13. Are those Warhol soups valuable? I bought a bunch when they were out, and I use them as pen cups (once emptied).
  14. Little Lulu is the sweet alter ego of the villainess Big Lulu
  15. Depending on the size of the job it could be spread across multiple presses. Depends on print run, scheduling, etc.
  16. I would assume they would all be run on the same machine, and once they got to the pagination/bindery stage they would simply swap out the necessary alternate signatures for the 9P versions.
  17. That bat pack has to be one of the rarest bat items there is...not the books themselves obviously, but how many of those sealed packs could there possibly still be? That the pack graphics are bat-based is awesome. I don't collect Bats but if I did I'd be all over this.
  18. A lot of people, myself included, discovered these boards over deals gone badly. If you have the kind of money where a $34K loss is just, "whatever," then you are a fortunate man. That being said, this board is a treasure in many ways. Use it before pulling out your checkbook again. Good luck!
