  1. This one kind of reminds me of a movie poster. Maybe inspired by Marilyn Monroe?
  2. Hey! I found a Nancy Wessner comic. Maybe we should start a Nancy Wessner thread?
  3. One of my non-Baker favorites, looks like Rita Hayworth.
  4. You can also download off of PB and reattach. Pain though.
  5. Great comic. Nancy had quite a collection.
  6. The hands do not look Bakerish but maybe he contributed in some way.
  7. I think one of the most difficult issues that never did cross my path was the All Picture All True Love Story 2. Wouldn't you know it showed up on ebay for $100 the other week but I didn't get it.
  8. What do you think? Think this is the source picture for CL25? Linda Darnell http://www.classicmoviefavorites.com/happy-birthday-linda-darnell-2015/
  9. Yes, I thought I had overpaid for it at the time but probably not so in today's market
  10. I think I've shared this before but here is what I believe to be the source picture of TLP 10. It is from a source drawing book (Loomis) that Baker was known to carry around with him.
  11. Wow, crazy prices. It makes me wish I would have kept my 9.0 TR22.
  12. Jo, it was a store up in Washington state that had a walk in collection find (I believe) that was Baker heavy and consisted of some VERY nice copies. Happened a couple of years ago. It came to be dubbed the 6th St. collection. Thank you
  13. Really nice copy. Is there are story on the 6th street books? Thank you for the update It was an OO collection from the northwest that the OO's heirs consigned to an LCS owner. He listed some of the books on eBay and when they sold at very strong prices, a dispute broke out among the heirs, who pulled the remaining books off the market. Those remaining books have yet to come to market, so far as I know.
  14. Thanks. The Art of Glamour book reproduces an illustration from the story, but I wasn't sure whether there was any more Baker art. Below is another from May 1957 :

  16. Thanks Doc!! I paid 2108.00 plus the shipping costs - I then had it cleaned with a light press to remove the spine roll and graded. As we all understand there are the attendant costs to the grading fees and shipping to and from Sarasota - unfortunately my addiction has created the need for me to re-prioritize certain things and I prefer to remain married than own a few recent purchases... I believe the price to be fair. The price certainly seems fair to me, but the boards aren't always the best place to receive FMV for a book. True. I pm'd a few boardies and figured I'd offer it here at what I've got into it...I can also wait it out....maybe something else will work where I don't need to sell.... Oh, yeah- if you can sell anything else... or do anything else... I'd recommend hanging on to that book. It'll only be a matter of, I'm guessing, less than ten years before this copy reaches the five figures potential. Anyone doubt it? Meet me back here on May 4th, 2026... I find it odd that GCE 12 rather CL 25 seems to be the Baker grail. For me, there's no comparison; CL 25 is just a much more desirable book. GCE 12 has more cross-over appeal I guess. What are GCE 12's going for nowadays? I know most are lower grades. Only recent sale on GPA is a 4.0 in 2014 for $1,950. There was a CLink sale (not recorded on GPA) of a 7.0 that went for $9.300 in 2013. I guess one hasn't popped up for sale in a couple years. Interesting. The ComicConnect GCE12 was actually a very nice copy. It seems like a great price for this one. Presented really well.

  18. Here are the rare pocket version of Teen Age Diary Secrets. Teen Age Diary Secrets 7 and 9. It is believed that 9 was just a recover of left over stock from 7. I'd like to believe some of these websites that say you can get a NM one at guide price of $125. If so, I'm up for buying more copies.
  19. Anyone looking for this one for their collection?
  20. Here's my copy, acquired a few years back from a boardie. Something about this issue I just love. Great copy! All the girls say that about Ramon. Yes, Ramon what a ladies man.

  22. I know you had a soft spot for this book Joanna. My copy is okay, but a 9.0 would be nice. I do have a nice copy and it isn't slabbed so I parted with that one but my copy is mid-range.
  23. Had this one at one time. Kind of wish I'd held on to it but thought it was a bit pricey at the time. I'm wondering how much this one would go for today.
