  1. Here are some the dailies with the same story line that appeared in the newsprint in 1952:
  2. Great page Roy Nobody in comics can capture the female form as well as Baker did. I'd love to own an Original Baker piece, especially a South Sea girl splash page. Anyway, congrats on a beautiful comic page by one of greatest artists in comics. Awesome Roy, congrats on the great purchase I'm sure you probably know the story...this OA was printed later on in comic form through Golden Features but this OA wasn't for the dailies. I'm thinking maybe they decided to do the dailies so they never published this piece in a comic in the early 50's. They did however do this same storyline in the dailies.
  3. Good for you, really! But it's a box. Am I missing something? And what made you want to put an empty box on eBay? There is no date on the box and researching it was a bit of a challenge, I new the 5 cent price of the poster packs told me it was old so I kept searching, I sent some photos to a baseball card guy who identified it to 1968 by the serial numbers on the bottom. Funny he did not make me an offer so I just listed it. I understand that it is more rareer than the product itself if you read my listing you will get my drift. funny thing is the things I was putting in the box turned out to be pretty good $$$wise. Wow, what a good score. (thumbs u Interesting story though. I never would have even known! This listing just ended, an item in the box pool chalk http://www.ebay.com/itm/260940257343?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649 This Deck of cards went last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/c1900-ANHEUSER-BUSCH-Spanish-American-War-playing-cards-USPC-Advertising-/250969704195?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6ef5c703 That is crazy who would have guessed a cardboard box would be worth that much. Crazy!
  4. It would have been nice if you would have been able to contact him. I'm sure he would have been thrilled to see this. Stinks you are one year too late. Maybe you might be able to contact his children?
  5. I picked up this Heart Throbs a couple months ago. This is the best copy I've seen of this issue. You don't see it up for sale too often.
  6. This one is missing the first page. I'm the high bidder BTW You might contact the seller the wording is kinda vague...maybe it's just a small piece out on the first page. Good luck! I hope you get it a decent price.
  7. Wow, two teen age romances 9 showing up in a week. I wonder if this one will go as high as the last one. TR9
  8. Always a pleasure Joanna! May I ask, how long did it take to complete the set? I'm thinking I started in 2007...boy how time flies!
  9. Here's a group shot of Teen Age Romances. I've been working on trying to organize. I'm still missing a few photo covers but it's not a big deal to complete. Thanks to Michael for helping me complete my last Baker cover of the series. I know there are some out of order.
  10. Gracias you and everybody else (Fuelman....please find another Action #10, I am getting hungry). I found Daring Love on a popular auction website that is renowned for its fees... You got me there. I have no idea which place this could be.
  11. The thing I don't get is when the estate sues for "copyright" infringement on anyone interpreting a piece that he created from a comic image.
  12. Congrats! I would have grabbed it if I didn't already have a decent copy of this one.
  13. That was fast, did one of you boardies grab it?
  14. Appears to be a nice deal on a Seven Seas 3 from what I can see, if it is indeed an FN...act fast... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seven-Seas-3-FN-Matt-Baker-Art-/270838748379?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3f0f3f54db#ht_760wt_797
  15. There are quite a few other examples that do end up on Metro's website. But, I don't think they have a policy in place for not bidding on the ComicConnect auctions. I guess they see these as two separate companies.
  16. I think it is Baker pencils. Here's another cool Baker cover:
  17. I have one with a double interior. I wonder how rare double interiors are?
  18. One of the more difficult ones to get..
  19. Picked this one up. The spine is really ruff but I've only ever seen one other copy.
  20. Now that's one I've never seen before! I have never had a copy of that one. I always wondered whether the stories were reprinted in a larger format, such as The Texan 13 or 14. I haven't checked which issue it references. I'll look it up.
  21. I picked this one up a while back but also really difficult to find...it's a midget comic.
  22. Very difficult one to find. Last Baker cover for St. John.
