  1. Kudos to Joel, Kris and Cosimo for getting this done. Now if I could only get Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley to sign it.
  2. Not when you're dealing with a fellow boardie.
  3. While not a non-paying bidder (yet), I had an auction that shortly before it ended, someone who was interested sent me a message asking if he won, could I wait until Feb. 6 for him to pay. I didn't see the message until after the auction was over and so didn't have a chance to respond, but the guy bid anyway and ended up winning the auction. He confirmed that he might not be able to pay until Feb. 6. I'm tempted to tell him that he has 7 days to pay or I'm canceling the deal, but the way things are these days, he would pay in time, but be would be hacked off that I wasn't willing to wait a month and leave me a negative.
  4. Awesome book! Marv will be attending Emerald City Comicon this March I appreciate the heads up, but you know what they say: pigs get fat, and hogs get slaughtered. I thought it was worth the risk to get Milgrom and Pollard to sign it, and I would have gladly added Wolfman had the timing worked out. But now that this book has been graded, I don't think I'll push my luck and have it cracked out again.
  5. It might be. If there are others, I'm sure it's the only 9.8. When Kris got it signed, he said that Pollard asked him where he was able to get Milgrom to sign it, so that sounded like it wasn't something he had seen before. In looking at sales on gpa, there is not a single copy noted to have Pollard's signature on it.
  6. Major kudos to Par2ch and thecollector for making this possible. I wish I could have gotten Marv Wolfman on it as well, but the only chance to get him was at Baltimore, and that was the same weekend that Keith Pollard was at a show in Dallas. I decided that between the two, I would rather have Keith Pollard since he's a much tougher signature to get.
  7. The Thors are all top census, but they're not alone. Technically they don't belong in this thread, but my previous mentions of the rules of this thread seem to have fallen on blind eyes, so I've given up that fight. I've done everything short of saying: I started to respond with something to the effect that the Holiday spirit must be setting in because no one had challenged the appropriateness of those books being posted in this thread, but then concluded I would be doing just that if I posted that.
  8. DC is the company name. If people referred to them as DC's (the same way they refer to ASM's for Amazing Spider-man), it'd be confusing since you don't know if the person is referring to the company or the title. "Tec" is short and easy. ' What many people do not realize is that the initials "DC" came from Detective Comics.
  9. While Stan's sig placement can frequently be questioned, he signs so many ASM #300's that his placement on those is pretty good. I can't think of any in quite a while that I would wonder what he was thinking.
  10. Does the seller still have the option to cancel a buyers bid if the feedback looks suspicious or he just doesnt have enough positive's yet? DR.X I'm think a seller can cancel someone's bid for any reason before an auction is over.
  11. Please keep us informed..so I can go after the bastid next. I woke up to an email stating he has paid in full. Same thing here.
  12. All of this was sounding way too familiar, so I checked through my old e-mails, and guess what? I found an e-mail from none other than Armen D. Sahakian about a $600 book that he had bought from me but did not pay for before I closed the unpaid item case. To his credit, he did finally pay for the book. After he had paid, he asked that I contact eBay to let them know he had done so in order to enable the unpaid item strike to be removed. Looks like we have a pattern NPB here.
  13. WOW! Well maybe we should all send something to Ebay about this. Does your Armen list his location in PA or NY? I would open a case. It is the same guy. He owes me too, and has not responded to any of my messages. I opened an unpaid item case a couple of days ago and suspect that I will be closing it as soon as I can in a couple of days. Since Billy the Kid is from State College, I asked him if he had heard of Armen, and he said he did not, although he was a little surprised he had not since the comic community there is pretty small.
  14. You just missed on chances to get Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Peter Criss was at the Chiller Theater this past weekend, and Ace Frehley was at a show a few weeks before.
  15. Huge kudos to Adam (Peter Palmer) for getting these done for me at the NYCC:
  16. No kidding. If it were a drop from 9.8 to 9.6, we would be talking some serious bucks, but there's not much of a difference between a 9.6 and a 9.4 on this book. And it wasn't a regular Stan Lee sig. You got an "Excelsior!" as well. I can't tell you how hard I've been trying to get one of those added to any of my books signed by Stan.
  17. Awesome sketch!!!!! But didn't the X-Men blank come out later than 5/21?
  18. Joey, your Chan book is a technical violation of Rule #2. No Soup for you. Come back one year. I just burned the other one. Can I stay Only if you removed the label first and sent it in to CGC to adjust their census.
  19. Kudos to Chandler for getting these done for me at the SDCC. Each is the highest SS copy in the census, with the next highest in each case being 9.2.
  20. Maybe you're seeing something i'm not.. Sandman #1? My bad. It was #13, so I guess I shouldn't single that one out.
  21. That Sandman #1 is just begging to have Neil Gaiman added to it.
