  1. This is a PRESALE for the movie variant cover of Captain Marvel #1 signed by Captain Marvel herself, actress Brie Larson, and graded 9.8 by CGC under its Signature Series label.  The usual rules apply.  Five (5) total copies are available.

In terms of timing, the copies will be signed at ACE Midwest 10/11 - 10/13 and submitted for fast track grading afterwards.

I will be using blue label 9.8 copies for this signing and will be having more than five copies signed, so grade should not be an issue, but in the unlikely event I don't receive enough 9.8 copies to fill all orders, buyers will be offered the choice of a full refund or a lower grade copy at a reduced price.  Likewise, if Brie Larson's appearance is canceled, any buyers will be provided a full refund.

A "Captain Marvel" remark or personalization may be added for $75.

Priority mail shipping and insurance to U.S. addresses is included. International rates are available upon request.

PayPal, money orders and checks are welcome.

From your site, Note: In select instances, CGC may accept signed books directly from the signer/publisher if accompanied by the appropriate documentation, but generally the CGC Signature Series label will only be issued to books signed under the direct observation of a CGC representative.

Is there a list of these online that you would accept for yellow label?

For example, I have a sig from Stan Lee with a COA, if I submitted, would it get a yellow label?

No.  Key words are "directly from the signer/publisher."

  3. Some recent additions.

Always nervous about cracking the first one out, but decided it was worth the risk to add "Superman"

A surprise crossover moment on the second one.  I asked Jack Dylan Grazer to add "Freddy," but I guess because most people at the show were more familiar with his role as "Eddie" in "it," that's what he was used to writing and wasn't even paying attention to what he was signing.

I think the last one might press up to 9.8.

  4. 18 book Modern Signature Series (not FT)

Submitted 5/5/19 at Fan Expo Dallas

    Received 5/11/19

    Scheduled for Grading 5/31/19

    Grading/Quality Control 6/4/19

    Finalized/Imaged/Shipped 6/7/19

Not counting Memorial Day or the Friday of Megacon as business days, 17 business days by my count, so a little bit faster than the current estimated TAT.  But estimated TATs are a little misleading right now because of the delay between delivery and "received/scheduled for grading."

Being your first submission, were the grades lower, higher or about what you expected?

If they are, then he'd better create a new thread :censored:ing about it, and proclaiming that he's "never submitting again!"

So I am right there with you but this is my 1st submission - Sig Series Modern

Dropped off at Fan Expo Dallas - 5/5/2019

    Received - 5/11/2019

    Scheduled for Grading - 5/31/2019

    Gradinig/QC - 6/3/2019

    Finalized - 6/5/2019

    Shipping - 6/6/2019 (tomorrow)

I was not expecting this to ship until at least the end of June, this is a pleasant surprise!

Now I wait for the other 5 submissions from the show, 1 is in SFG and another is in Grading/QC, others are at CCS. :roflmao:

11 book FT Modern Signature Series

Submitted 5/5/19 at Fan Expo Dallas

    Received 5/13/19

    Scheduled for Grading 5/24/19

    Grading/Quality Control 5/29/19

    Finalized/Imaged/Shipped 6/1/19

If you include the Friday of Megacon and Memorial Day as non-business days, then by my count right at the 13 business days currently listed as the estimated TAT for FT modern.

So, with this submission,  did you actually see a "received" notation? I thought that wasn't a thing any more. Is that something they do for on-site submissions, but not shipped items? My Modern FT books, for example, were delivered USPS on 5/13/19 and show received 5/23/19. They immediately went to "Scheduled for Grading" in the notes at the same time. That would mean my books were scheduled for grading before yours, but recieved after? Confusing.

    rantrant

I dislike the fact that "receiving" is used to push turn around times out 2 weeks...without actually noting that on the turn around times posted on the website.  Absolutely misleading. It took 8 business days to check my books in. Turn around time was listed at 11 days at the time. At this point I'm at 16 total business days (excluding Memorial Day) (almost 4 calendar weeks), with 8 of those days being after the books were "received". Turn around times are now at 13 days. Hammer me for whining, but I know I'm not the only one. I believe CGC should get the books in system within a day or 2, bring back the "received" notation for all submissions and track books the old (and much better) way.  Then, post realistic turn around times that start at "received". Right now modern fast track should be at about 21 business days by my estimation.

     rantrantover...

Based on the submissions I've tracked in my account, if the submission form was completed online, that submission does not appear in the system until it has been "verified" and goes straight to "Scheduled for Grading." The status never is "Received."  If the submission form was completed manually (as is the case for all Signature Series submissions), the submission initially will appear in the system as "Received" with no detailed information available as to the particular items, and does not move to "Scheduled for Grading" until the contents of the submission have been "verified."  This is more like the old system when "Scheduled for Grading" usually was a signal that grading was imminent.

When counting days, keep in mind that "the Fridays before a major convention are not counted as business days for submission processing," which is why I did not count the Friday of Megacon.

  8. 11 book FT Modern Signature Series

Submitted 5/5/19 at Fan Expo Dallas

    Received 5/13/19

    Scheduled for Grading 5/24/19

    Grading/Quality Control 5/29/19

    Finalized/Imaged/Shipped 6/1/19

If you include the Friday of Megacon and Memorial Day as non-business days, then by my count right at the 13 business days currently listed as the estimated TAT for FT modern.

Hey, looking for info on Brie Larson and Chris Evans signings. Also, prices and facilitator + grading fees would be handy as well.

Chris Evans is scheduled for ACE Seattle at the end of June. If you check SigSeries Event Central you can find which facilitators are accepting books.

As far as I know, Brie Larson does not have any appearances scheduled.

One thing I would like to point out, your book already looks totally clean = no improvement for that. As a suggestion I would submit to CCS, request an evaluation. DO not remove it from the slab, send it in the slab.

Since the book is SS, it should go without saying that it should be left in the slab when sending it in, even if it's not going to be screened.

    IM 55 $4.50

    IH 181 $35.00

    ASM 129 $2.50

    Avengers 57 $15.00

    Thor 165 -166 $10.00 ($5 each)

    Hulk 102 $15.00

    DD 168 $2.50

    FF 112 $6.00

    Defenders 28 $2.75

    X-men 52 $3.50

I get 96.75, plus the 2.50 for ASM 129 comes to 99.25. Might as well spend that .75 on a copy of Hulk 271

The ASM #129 was already included.  I would also add an ASM 194 for $1.

In your case the tape would be there to help the signer know not to go too close to the edge.  I've also seen people just use boxes drawn on the bag with a Sharpie to indicate where the opening is at.

I would advise against using a Sharpie, as even when the ink is dry it can smear.  Usually not a big deal for signatures, but definitely a problem for sketches.
