  6. Hope everyone had a good holiday season, first sales thread on the new boards I will have a major RAW thread sometime next week, once things slow down in the office. 4 slabs for sale at pretty much blow out prices. As always here are the 1. The first person in the thread to post the gets it. 2. Accept PayPal, Check and Money Order 3. Shipping will be $13.60 for the first 3 slabs inside the US. I will combine shipping to equal whatever it costs after that. I will also ship anywhere, but International will cost whatever it costs. 4. None of the bad list people you know who you are. 5. Check out some of the happy customers from my previous FS threads [in the old forum I know] who left good vibes from their purchases. Jbud's WOW it took me a long time to find my feedback thread
  7. DC Super-Stars 11 is part of the whole 2nd tier BA female revival, [Add Huntress, PowerGirl, Harlequin to the list] So far in BA All-Star 58 leads the pack, I think this book is probably tougher in high grade, but it is not Z's first app. and not as much notable stuff going on in the book as far as I remember. Its a 68-pg over sized copy that is not square bound and has a tougher black cover. There are not a lot of slabs in circulation and I think this book MAY start to ride the coat tails of DC Super-Stars #17, only time will tell, I have a copy somewhere but finding it
  8. So interesting to look back.... In 2010 when this was posted you had double digit opportunities to buy a IH 181 in 9.0 for a 1000 of less. This year the mean is approx 3K. ASM 300? As the post said it was on a downward trajectory when the OP posted this, so 550 would have secured you one. Today? 5 sales all around 1100 this year. Seems IH 181 was the better investment, I know there are BA performance sites where 5 year prices on big BA books are tracked.
  9. Did Donut pull the DD 142 from Dlaes stock a few years back? I know he found one while looking through Dales stuff at one show. not sure, but one of my DD 132s came from FD. I'm thinking I need to ask him to find me a Thor 193 though
  10. I can tell you from experience you missed 2 test markets. Found most of mine in road trips out of state to places you apparently aren't checking. I've been to all six. Isn't this sweet. Someone trying to tell Dan about price variants. I tell Dan about price variants all the time, a little something like, "Dan find me some price variants."
  11. Disagree on the hero books. I have a short box of 35 centers found in the wild. Never found that many 30 centers. It is the same reason IM #89 and MOKF #39 seem so difficult. When they look like every other book, they don't end up on eBay as "price variants" They are found in long boxes mixed in with all the rest. The rarity of the hero 35 centers is grossly exaggerated. Full disclosure: I have 2 short boxes of 35 cent hero books and counting, I have no self-interest here. No. Speaking as someone who has been actively looking for variants in all the known test markets since 1997, your analysis is completely wrong. I've been through entire comic stores backstocks in test markets before people knew what they were (Memphis, San Jose, Wilmington) looking through literally 1000s of books and have found maybe 100 35s in 20 years in the raw. Strictly from my own experience, the ratio of 30s to 35s is at least 10-1 in the raw, maybe 15-1, with the ratio of a non-variant to a 30 center probably 75-1 in a test market area. As Paul stated, if you've found two full short boxes of 35s in the wild you are either the luckiest guy in the world OR you've hit a previously unknown test market. Stay out of San Jose
  12. 2 1/2 year quest man I'm on the slow boat to Variant nirvana, that's for sure.
  13. Nice centering on the HoS 88 - Ya that's the Pac Coast
  14. I wouldn't even look for them in Baltimore unless I slashed FDs tires first On the Kid Colt 205, a little karma for all you sharks out there. I found this book with a dealer and it was marked around the rest of the variants, I was open about it and let him know it was probably work 4-5 times that and actually ended up paying that as he gave me a deal on the other variants. Now whenever ones comes in I get a email, these were the last two he pinged me on. Probably no way I ever see them otherwise. So sometimes, even if its a dealer, working with them and being forthright gets you access to books that are pretty rare and they have a much higher probability of seeing than you do.
