  1. Greggy reads Marvel? Nope greggy sells Marvels to buy DC's which I'm assuming he reads, unless the other post here was correct. I know he can read graemlin for sure and thats more than I can say.
  2. Alot was subsequently made about the Nic Cage theft in a few other threads. I was curious if anything was ever uncovered. - Does anyone know what the 3 books in question were? I think 'Tec 27 was floated about as one of them.? - If they really were uber rare and expensive as in the 'Tec 27 realm of book I would think that it might be hard to move the merchandise without some information coming out on them?
  3. Awe I get all weepy when one of you guys goes all lawyer on the boards.
  4. Don't worry nam, when you look at some of the things CGC HAS given designation to it really entrenches how flippant the SA Ped designation is.
  5. I guess I agree with the gallery on this one 4.0 to 4.5 - I would go 5.0 IF and depending on the amount of gloss, colors and inks reflectivity retained on the cover. The wear all looks to be around the edges which is a bonus, however it looks as if there is some loss of gloss etc. on the cover. If this is NOT the case and the cover still presents well, I could see this book definitly garnering a 5.0 - I've seen Marvels from this era with Chipping, staining or oxidation at the staples garner a 4.0 and 4.5.
  6. You guys are all assuming that no one else will buy the DTA copy. I think that Ian's purchase may cast a spotlight on the DTA copy by emphasizing how rare the book is. 10X guide for what might be the second best copy of one of the toughest DC books does not sound as crazy to me now as it did a year ago. Ya but all the time you've spent here has probably made you insane.
  7. Here we go.... I wonder why deathlock has not chimed in on this thread yet - he seems to contribute to every thread in General... curious. Ian, I don't think most people can even comprehend how difficult the task is even if you have the means. Do you still currently buy every DC comic every week, or is there a date whereby the collection stops??
  8. After San Diego and before Chicago, I could think of better timing. Not that I'm complaining, it will be nice to see whats there.
  9. I can forgive the staple CBC...What killed it for me is the damage in the LLC and what appears to be SCS damage in LRC... If the LLC is the result of SCS then that was NOT there when it was graded. The faint stress the the top side of the top staple is granted (I have a better monitor at work than at home) still I do not disagree so much with the grade. Its either a strong 9.2 or a just made it 9.4 and if that is SCS then I can see 9.4 no problem. I've seen CGC blow it far worse than this book - but always nice to talk about grading in this grade range.
  10. I'm not your freakin' secretary... Give it some time
  11. Ok, I'll bite. I see minor wear to the bottom left edge and at a few points along the top edge, with what looks like a color fleck at the top edge near the right side. Those would not be enough to keep it out of 9.4 IMO. Nice QP on that book and gloss, colors and inks look very fresh - but then again enlighten away.
  12. Do you think there is an elitism to the board that makes people not want to post. I mean seriously looks an some of the id!ots that post - you guys should have no compulsion about jumping on in. Er, well except for the BA Horror thread cause the looney toons stay out of here thankfully.
  13. Needless to say I was stoked about this purchase for $15 - a 9.4 candidate IMO
  14. Those Doomsday Cover are Just awesome - unfortunately it brings into focus how far hes fallen off.
  15. Hey Zonk great post, one small request, can you edit it to put the sales figures in bold. That would make it much easier to read. Great stuff though thx
  16. This one has always been a personal fav or mine. Kaluta
  17. Norm Breyfogle did some solid work on Batman awesome cover
  18. Well I'm sure there was a little hype to it, but there are some stats to support that. It ran for 70 issues - thats longer than WWBN or any other horror series Marvel put out aside from maybe Ghost Rider and hes went a little more superhero IMO. As well I think its the best Marvel in terms of quality. Colan and Wolfman stayed on this thing for the entire run, more or less and it seems to me they really put all their effort into this book. There also seem to be a lot of HG copies of TOD floating around which would support a higher print run possibility.
  19. Just thinking about BA horror again as always, thought I would posit a question for discussion here. If HOM and HOS are the big two IE the Pepsi and Coke of BA Horror. What the third title? What is the Snapple of the BA horror genre?
  20. No offense Sid, ya know I think you have great taste in comics and we buy a lot of the same stuff - that Romance stuff you like aside. But DC thought bubbles You're a Horror comics guy, I mean c'mon man You better post a Wrightson real quick to purge you system of this.
  21. HEY OCTOBER FIRE Stop buying nice comics, that makes me want to buy nice comics and I'm supposed to be saving / getting the War Chest ready for WW Chicago.
