  1. IMO this is one of the tougher minor keys to find in HG, I have seen alot of crappy overpriced issues and very few copies that have anywhere near the presentation quality that I am looking for.
  2. Nice pickup, too bad about the staples, but the cover shows very well - doesnt look to be a lot of surface wear on that copy.
  3. Well that makes more sense, I was a little confused as to how a book with no description and a 33.3% scan gets that kind of hammer price. I think there is a bit of a double standard, as a lot of collectors moan about the lack of nice raw stuff available and then are when a raw book sells for big dollars. Personally hey man more power to you, buy what you want its your money. Personally I think that raw HG copies can be had far cheaper and that very few books from the late SA and BA are rare, but if you're happy with the book so much the better.
  4. Like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6537049821 That's more like it. Thats just boggles my mind. Unless he asked for larger scans how can you pull the trigger on that book at that price with that crappy scan, I copied and pasted it into Adobe and it was so blurry at 200% and even then there is no way you can assess condition from that scan. Unless it actually is a 9.4 or a 9.6 that would be a
  5. Killer books Vince just hope you enjoy the Ghosts 25. I have some really nice copies in the early 200s as well, which shall remain raw though I understand the selling of slabs - but just like the persentation in Mylar better.
  6. Very light week as I've been busy selling. Picked this up on a whim.
  7. And October Fire adds a few more sharp looking books to his collection. Great Tomahawk
  8. Where are the good books? I'm waiting until your Auctions finish to list the rest of the DCs
  9. Best copy I have seen what the label says.
  10. Thanks Sterling - I think that was brought on more by the fact that most of the transactions I have had that are positive have been with board members - both buying and selling. If a lot more sellers put a little more effort into it there would be a lot more happy people out there. Granted some ppl are shady by nature, but it astounds me some of these guys that sell 1000s of books with crappy scans. I mean my scanner cost me $100 - photbucket is $25 a year Actually screw those guys, just buy my books.
  11. Thanks Mom now go bid and I might not even charge you for shipping
  12. I know, I know it's better served in the Marketplace - but members do from time to time post books here they are selling. I just finished listing a lot of Silver and Bronze horror books including some Larger bulk lots so I figured I'd give you guys the heads up. MY AUCTIONS
  13. Hi Russell - I think CGC puts the Nic Cage/Dallas Stephens notation on the label, but they are certainly NOT pedigrees, or recognized as such (not in the classic definition of pedigree anyway). Initially we did note MH2 sales, even though this was not originally noted on the CGC label. And more recently the MH2 has appeared on the labels. They usually bring in a higher result and hence why we originally noted the MH2s. I don't think the NC/DS books have generally brought in a higher sale price, but I'm in categorization so I can't say for sure. It's something for George or Simon to report on as they are closer to the market reports. Cheers Rich Thanks for the info, but the issues of Pedigree was skirted. MH2 IS NOT A PEDIGREE I Own 5 of them (see have a cigar for the most recent 2) with all apologies to the fab books you posted I would Never post them here. If I ever do slab them (which I doubt) I will NOT BE INCLUDING THE CERTIFICATE, or in any way, shape, or form alerting CGC that they are MH2. This is the only way I see on righting this glaring injustice to all the other Peds. If I had enough cash I would buy every MH2 I could and start a bonfire on the Beach with the COAs - Alan you could fly out and toast marshmellows They are great books - but a warehouse find and not original owner off the stand purchases. Is nothing sacred in this hobby anymore.
  14. That was one of the first comics I ever remember being around. I didnt buy it off the newstand (being 4 at the time) however, I always just remember it being there.
  15. Looks like Serpi got punished on this auction.
  16. Just bugging you Pov, I was super impressed with the haul you got seeing how LATE you hit the show floor By picky I meant 2 things - one I only collect HOM and HOS and a few select covers in the other BA books - two I've been into BA horror for a few more years IE when you were still shelling out the $$$ for that PreCode stuff (ya I'm jealous). So I don't need as many BA Horror books having sewed up my copy of this and that book long ago. I was really impressed with some of the Horror crossover stuff you got.
  17. Well I know that Pov was a little less picky that I was, but he still got some reall nice books - mostly since I don't collect Ghosts, or Witching Hour and pointed him toward a few dealers that had the goods. Perosnally I took 25 books all HOM, HOS WWBN, TOD everybook was 9.2 or better. The price scale went like this in terms of sticker to % of guide. 1. TOD 2. HOM 3. HOS 4 WWBN
  18. Ya just to follow up on the availability of BA Horror. You have to look for it, collecting BA Horror is not for the lazy person. This is evident by checking out the wal books of most dealers, of which maybe and I mean maybe 5% is BA horror, more like 1-3%. Its all Spiderman, FF, Batman, X-men,Superman etc etc, plus whatever movie hype books are in Vogue. I mean ppl give greggy a lot of slack, rightly so but I'm pretty sure the DC's he turns up don't just fall from the sky - he has to go dig around a little and find them. In that respect collecting BA Horror is a bit like being a variant collector, not to the extreme that those wackos go but its got the same stature in the Hobby - IE outside the mainstream. There is a little bit of exposure flying BA horror's way over the past year, culminated by Doug Sulipa's article in the OS - but even that article is a little self serving as Doug has a lot of BA Horror The competition is starting to warm up a bit and the bandwagon a little less spacious, still in terms of the amount of general BA Horror books (outside the keys) that get slabbed, get mentioned as having broken a price record etc etc, still not a lot of activity relative to the mainstream titles.
  19. Every single larger Con I've been to recently and I'm not even talking about San Diego, has BA Horror in HG. You have to look because they are still thought of as an genre and obscure, though that is slightly changing but they are there. Put it this way, at WonderCon I know for a fact that Pov - BassG and myself were going to specifically target these books and thats just three ppl I know personally. With that in mind all three of us still got at least 30 books in HG, heck I think Pov had close to 100. I too have noticed Ebay competition stiffening for BA horror, but at the last 3 major conventions I went to it was easy to find on the show floor - most ppl at the Cons still have superheroitis, are Marvel Zombies, or both.
  20. Reminds its a cover swip, er unless it came out before HOM 174, which I doubt.
  21. I actually bought a lot of books this week - 10 HG WWBN's 3 of the X-Men reprints I have been looking for and of course a few DC Horror book, but the one I liked the best was this copy of Crisis #1 I snagged for $5 at the LCS, my LCS rarely ever gets in any new books, but I was shooting the with the owner about artists etc, they know I'm a big Perez fan so he tells me he got a few crisis books in - I have a look, the number 1 was - well Ill let the scan speak for itself
