    Thank you @CGC Lyndsey!!!

Here is a link to the Comic registry 'request new sets' thread:

New Set Requests Thread for Comics

Basically once a set is created (after it is found out to be a legit request, of course), the administrator who creates the comic sets makes them in the order of when they've been requested, thus creating a 'queue' for the new to-be-created sets.  Once made, the admin then crosses them off the list.  If a set cannot be made then it is noted by the admin either in the OP's post or by quoting them and then denoting why.

I know it would be a lot of work to add this to your plate, but it should be noted that if this were to happen in the trading cards sections there would need to be noted an already established queue of sets that are in line that we don't know about so that posters wouldn't constantly ask you when their requested set would be created.

I'm not certain of this but I imagine there are far more types of comic books to deal with than non-sports trading cards so eventually I'm certain these sets would be caught up to the point that there wouldn't be a need to create new sets each week but since the registry is new I understand how much time goes into their creation.  I appreciate you for it and for the communication with us (and for the update you just gave me in your previous post).

I'm super excited to see the new Marvel sets soon - thank you again for all your help!!! :)

Thanks so much for the link and explanation! We do currently have a lot of set requests in the queue through the submission form, but this might be something we can do once that gets a little bit smaller. I will pass the feedback along though! :)

    Hi Lyndsey,

I am a new collector of CGC (CSG) cards. My interest is in graded basketball cards. I have made a few requests for sets to be added via the links from the CSG/now CGC Cards website, but cannot see than any of these have been added yet.

Do I need to do anything else, aside from being patient?

    Kind regards

    Stephen

Hi Stephen, If you've made the requests for the sets, they will be added in the order they were received. I'm sorry I don't have more info, this forum is specifically for trading cards and non-sports cards. We do have a sports cards specific forum, they may be able to give you some additional information. You can find that forum here: https://boards.csgcards.com/forum/12-csg-registry/

Hey @CGC Lyndsey - so sorry to bother you but I wanted to check in again (still new-ish to the card collecting game via CGC, btw) but are there plans to release more than 1 set a week?  It's been close to 3 months since I made some new set requests (for Marvel/DC type cards) and since we can't see the queue I'm wondering if it'll be years before these come to fruition.  I know it's a lot of work so please don't think I'm complaining with this but as an avid collector of cards it's just disappointing that something like 9-10 of the sets I collect not to have registry sets (so far only 1 does).  All I see each week is Pokemon/Magic/gaming-type cards sets being created and I'm certain that's probably the majority of what card collectors go for but still I wanted to ask how realistic anything Marvel/DC related will be created before 2023 is over.

Sorry again for asking and I know how much work it must be to create these new sets each week...but without seeing any type if queue of sets on the list to be created (like we do in the comic section) I'm just curious as to what the estimated wait time will be lol.  Thank you for your hard work and sorry to reach out to ask this.

    ~SR

Sidenote - will it ever be possible to get a queue for set requests started like we have in the comic forum?  Basically when a new set is desired people request it and it gets put in order of when it's requested.  This would make things more transparent and give us more of an idea of wait time, at least...just a thought.  Thanks again for everything!

Hi @Sensei Ryan, it's no bother. New Marvel sets will be coming soon (definitely before the end of 2023)! Can you post a link to the comics forum set requests thread that you're talking about? I only moderate the TCG Registry forum so I'm not familiar with it. It may be something we can do at some point; I will have to look into it.

Wondering if you have any information on why I have sets that have no rank. They are FATES I, II, III and ISLES.

There is an issue with the ranking system currently. Our team is working to correct it. I apologize for any confusion.

Thank you for working on these! One thing to note - the Reserved List goes through Urza's Destiny, so the sets in Second Stage up through that point (Stronghold, Urza's Saga, Urza's Legacy, Urza's Destiny) can have Reserved List subset types like the First Stage releases. (They don't have as many cards in them as the sets in the First Stage, so they should be easier to add maybe? They do contain some valuable cards, though.)

    You're welcome! :)

And thanks for the suggestion! I'll add that to the list.

The same issue has affected the smaller set of Holograms from Series I.  It seems now that the 10.0's are vastly more highly scored than anything 9.0 or below.  I realize there is a point differential based on grades but it seems beyond excessive now as anything below 9.5 is pretty much worthless by comparison if that makes sense.

Thanks for letting me know! They are still working on the ranking issue. And thanks for the feedback about the scoring, I will pass it along. :)

@CGC Lyndsey, There is also several discrepancies with my latest received submission. I have blue label cards that are gem mint 9.5 and some pristine 10 blue labels that are registering in the pop report and registry as 9.5 mint +.  That is definitely an issue that needs to be resolved!  All Blue label grades need to be reflective of the old blue label grading scheme regardless of when it was submitted. All of mine were submitted and received and (already graded) well before the July 10th deadline. I can send pics if needed.

    Example: I have a pristine 10 - 1990 MU Havok but it is showing up as a 9.5 mint+. 🤦

The only cards that should have a different grade listed are the Gem Mint 9.5, which should show up on the registry as Gem Mint 10 now. If you have cards with grades other than Gem Mint 9.5 showing up as something else, please send me those details so we can look into it. If you can send over images showing the grade on the label and what the grade shows up as on the registry as well as the cards' cert #s, that will be very helpful.

The registry competition is showing the number two competitor with a higher total point value than the number one position leader... Might be a glitch or something.:whatev: Thanks.

I noticed that too Brian! I'm the higher point total but in 2nd now. Hmmm..  I'm about to finish out the entire set too!! All Blue labels. BOOM!

Thanks for letting me know! There is a known issue with the rankings currently. We're working to get it fixed.

So I cleared a little more data and I can now get into my Registry. Many thanks on that. I still have 4 sets that have a point total ranking of 0.  They are FATES I, II, III. and ISLES. Anything you could do would be appreciated. Thanks again

I'm so glad you were able to get into your registry! I did send that info over on the sets you have that are showing as a rank of zero, I will let you know as soon as I hear back.

Excuse we for asking what might be a stupid question but, when you say clear your cache do you mean my site history on my computer or something else? I've cleared the history on my computer and that has not resolved the problem. If you mean something else please explain. Apologies for my ignorance. The sets I'm referring to are the ones with a rank of zero.

Yes, on my browser (Chrome) it says Clear Browsing Data and you can choose Browsing History, Cookies and Other Site Data, and Cached Images and Files. Since you've done that and it's still not working, I will pass this along on my side so we can look into it.

Yeah I'm having a hard time understanding the new grading system. For instance, I've got a base set charizard graded at a 4 (I'm broke, sue me) and it's worth a whopping 2,181 points. I also have an amazing rare vivid voltage celebi graded gem mt 10 worth... 18,209 points. Now I realize obviously that a 10 is a big deal and a 4 is pretty weak, but Charizard is one of the holy grails of trading cards and amazing rare vivid voltage Celebi is like, a step above bulk.

It really feels like the grade of a card weighs incredibly heavily in comparison to the card itself, which strikes me as rather backwards.

Thanks for the feedback! I will pass this along. :)

Just created a new set yesterday and it has a points total but a rank of Zero. I'm confused. Still can't access my sets from my home page. I can get to my submissions but not my sets.

I'm sorry you're having trouble. Can you please provide some additional information so I can look into this? Which specific set are you referring to? I see that you have a few with a rank of zero. Also, can you please try clearing your cache and then trying again to access your sets from your home page? If that still doesn't work, please let me know what happens when you try to click on your sets.

If I submit a card graded a 9 for re grading that has strong subgrades. Say 9,9,10,10. Do they use the existing subgrades or do they disregard the existing grades and re grade the card. It would seem a card with those subs would come back with a 9+ grade. Or do they regrade the card with the possibility it would come back with a lower grade. I understand it would not have subs anymore.

If you're just submitting the cards to be reholdered with the new label, the grade will not change unless you have a card that is Gem Mint 9.5, which will be changed to a Gem Mint 10. Otherwise, all cards will stay the same grade. And of course, as we are no longer doing sub-grades, those will not be on the new label if you submit them for reholdering. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions! :)

If I submit a card with subgrades will those grades be used to get the new grade. In the case of the new 9+ grade, would a card with subgrades of 9,9,10,10 get the new 9+ grade.

The only cards that will receive a new grade if you submit for reholder will be cards graded Gem Mint 9.5, which is now Gem Mint 10. We will no longer have subgrades so if you would like to keep your subgrades, we recommend not having the cards reholdered. Okay, I did that and relogged in and same result. BUT I tried doing "view desktop site" on my mobile browser and that has everything showing up.

So looks like it might have to do with mobile web browsers.

OK, thank you for that information, it's very helpful! I will pass this info along. Hopefully, we can get it fixed soon and I will let you know when I hear back.
