screw it, I'll take the tec after all
When more time passes I think more would lean toward the Batman! As great as the Action is, Batman IS King! (does this count for 2??? )
-
Very Hard to decide , really took a while but Detective 29 gets the edge. 2nd Batman cover ever!
-
Bangzoom has a nice AA#16 that probably would rank just below the Church copy but does he own an Adv #40?
Oh YES HE DOES!!!
Oh man Dc has to make some kind of film for the Sandman. They cannot just stay with Superman and Batman forever (not like I dont love them but come on). Doesn't everyone agree? Have a Sandman movie taking place in a1939 type set with villains like the Face and the Brute (and maybe a cameo by another character....)
Anyway, one day I hope to have a 40! Besides the AA 16, 17 and 21 the rest of the covers are not that great. And after Moldoff, don't really care.
-
Yep Flessel does it!

Question for anyone, who was the one "Timely" who started this thread? Just wondering
-
Oh and AA16 on the new question. Such a rare book it would be hard to choose anything over it as who knows when you would get another shot. I don’t think that Adventure 40 is as rare, but I could be mistaken.
Not sure either but both are great. Its just that the Sandman cover is just slightly more awesome.

oooops sorry about the spelling of your name
-
Let's kick start this aggain.
Bought both for approximately same amounts.
Which one would you choose and why?
I will take the AA 16. I love both books very much, but the AA has a special place in my heart. So there it is.
KOKO1 Adventure 40! Sandman is way more awesome!

Superman # 1,that’s not even a contest. Far more important character, far more important book.
Whats going on here??? The last I saw there was a contest between Double Action and Batman 6.
-
Great cover, old school at its best. Cant TEC artists do that today?
-
People are always in the hunt for those Skull covers! Who wouldn't be ? They are awesome!
-
I picked this one up from the LCS today. It walked in the door with a copper/modern Spider-Man collection.
RED SKULL COVERS RULE!

I go for all the early Dc that's available and especially when I have saved enough to afford them. So I am glad to have a little of almost every GA DC title. But of course runs are better. And so few actually have those.
-
Now can anyone show me a pic of The first Shadow pulp and Marvel ? Never seen them before.....
-
Hello,
here are a couple of sharp Shadows I picked up for my private collection!
"The Strange Disappearance of Joe Cordonia" - November 15, 1936
from the "Strasser" collection (white pages).
The CLASSIC cover of "Shadowed Millions" - January 1, 1933 - (White pages..blazing cover gloss...printers crease only in the bottom middle part of the front cover).
A straight on shot of "Shadowed Millions" (in a mi-lite 2).
I didn't know beauties like this existed. Me want more.
Amazing!

If I ever make an Adventure run (yea right- maybe 20 years from now ) it will be from 31 and on - not too interested in the funny cover years. And it would go from 31-102 only.
-
Seems I only collect GA Actions, I have thought what run I would go for next. New Adventure/Adventure is still my #1 choice.
Don't worry, that won't be for several years.
I go for Actions too, and Detectives and Timelys ( oh my)

What a great cover, Syd's stuff is great! Did Marvel ever bring back the Blonde Phantom?
