18 is awesome! how can anyone not like that cover!
-
Hey Ben, Im not bashing (its still a nice cover), but I only believe that there are better covers to early Tecs. Why did this one get a classic cover note and not say a 7 ? Who determines this?
-
My best Tec Ben, love the Flessel covers. Who doesnt?!
-
Question, whats the big deal about a TEC 8 ? Being considered a classic cover ? I dont think so by a long shot. There are so many better pre-hero covers than the 8. Id say 7 is better, so is 9, so is the 12, 14, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 26. And yet they consider the 8 a classic? I would take a poll on this....

don't mention the "p" word, even here in GA, or you might get your wrist slapped
I'm with you, this is my Fav AS issue (#1 is a close "2nd")Green logo background, dynamic Schomburg "big 3" war cover and a Red Skull appearance
If ever buy an All-Select this would be the one.
me three; the depiction of the 3 stars about equal on the as 1 and 2, but i find the bridge setting more intriguing than the castle.
good observations guys..it's making me want to pull out my books and geek a little...
Just some beautiful Schomburg goodness!!! I love the cover on the AS 2. Schomburg's weird perspective is so neat. I mean, how big does Subby have to be to tear down that bridge. So much going on. I could geek at this cover for hours!! Great posts fellows.
I believe Schomburg was making a political statement by drawing Cap, Subby, Torch extra LARGE to say that the USA would overcome... (thumbs u
Yeah, on the eve of the election
Cool cover BTW, as for them (Cap, Torch and Submariner) being drawn larger...and being a P statement ...oh yes it was. Did you know that many American comics were banned in un-democratic nations in Europe?!

Ok no more P talk

So who does everyone really believe will win tomorrow? I remember back in 1988 everyone saying Dukakis was going to win and look what happened. I believe the result will be similar tomorrow.

I love the Thing prototype cover on ST 94, Cant believe I sold so many of these now (did it to finance a lot of the GA titles). Only have a few left. Damn, used to have so many prototypes, Iron Man, Spiderman, Watcher, Doom, ect
-
More importantly FFnut where can another one be found?
-
I wonder what updates on GA titles they will have next year.......
-
Oh no Im asking anyone here who has one.... just would like to see that cover again! Just imagine the bidding war when one comes up for sale!
-
Now can we see the 13 too??
-
Thats it, Ill be in the NY Javits show in Feb... with cash of course! What a 10! Its a 10!!!!
-
What a 10! I will save a lot of cash in the upcoming year just in case it becomes available......
-
never seen this before....... Dont think I ever heard of the title either..... Hitler octopus

Speaking of Europeans and comics, is Asterix French originally?

In a matter of fact I would rather have a restored book over a (example) say Green qualified label with a note saying incomplete with missing pages
-
I submitted this book back in the summer and it came back PLOD "Cover Cleaned". I was wondering what you guys thought about books with this amount of restoration. No pieces added, tear seals, etc., but still purple. Do you keep restored books in your collection? Is "cover cleaned" considered a little resto? Or, is restored is restored is restored? How much does this affect the value of the the book when you go to sell it? I'm not necessarily looking to sell, but may decide to return it to the seller. It is still such a pretty book, and actually looks better than 7.5. Does the restoration bring down the overall grade? Please give me your opinions.
Thanks — Rick
Keep it unless you paid way over guide for it. Everyone has some purple label books at some point or another, its not as bad as some people made it (restored labels) out to be.
-
Forget it.....unrestored 3.0s for those issues go for over a thousand easily......If there ever is anything under that grab it.
-
Love that 37!
-
One general question though for anyone... How would have the comic world been if the U.S. decided back then not to join the allies ? For Example, we know how Timely changed the cover for Young Allies 1 (omitting Stalin from the cover) , would that have been the same with Japan and Germany? Would comics have been so successful if events were different at the time ?

Destroyer covers are classics! What a keeper!
-
Thanks. I still need a 19 to complete the run from 17-22......

Those Shuster covers are fabulous. How many covers did he do in total I wonder?

I have been wondering that for a while. I wonder what else Overstreet has forgot?
