Exactly. If he hadn't been holding his gun, he would have been able to hold and activate his anti-car force field device and this would never have happened.
He may not have felt inclined to chase after someone stealing $20 worth of comics.
I knew James and I've shopped his stores for a few decades. None of this story surprises me. -
Oh yeah, I guess that's pretty right on. (Those are Greggy's frosted donut fingerprints, right?)

I missed some damage on the bottom right corner. The rest of the book is clean. That might have been a little harsh as I've seen higher scores before but still within range (8.5)
Front or back? It's hard to see anything from the scan. Got some pretty books there!

Damn it all, now I have to go to a BBQ! Lousy non-comic-collecting friends.

Threads like this are very useful in determining the type of people we are dealing with on these boards,
On a comic book chat board we certainly DO NOT need inappropriate borderline smut being shoved in our face but reading through this thread you will find those that not only have no problem with it , but are critical of the fact that it was even brought up

This is the most amazing thread ever.

I've got loads of 5.0's that look similar to this. The weird thing is that it's been written on/stamped three times, one of which does not appear to be related to the store stamp. Does that impact the grade?

I read the entire run of this a few weeks ago.
Totally ridiculous in many places, but very inventive and... fun.
I've always loved the idea that there's a dinosaur just walking around in the Marvel Universe. I hope the new series catches on.

Might be a .5, but even that could be worth it as the last recorded sale for a 3.0 was for $1500.

Whoa, most of the time, nobody likes my books but why is this batch so different?

Anyone have any info on the print run of these cool books?

There are not 2 variants of that book from Dell'Otto. Must be a data issue from GPA. Maybe they weren't tracking it at that time or something. I don't know.
Interesting. Wild that an ultra-common non-key book (630+ in 9.6 or better) would spike late in the game like that.

Another good example is Dell'Otto X-23 #1 1:25, its worth a lot more than the 1:75 variant. Why? the cover and cover artist. Its been worth a good chunk of change for a while now and probably will be for a long time. How long? Who the hell knows.
Let's talk about that one... Because I'd love to understand this.
Here's the chart for a 9.8 X-23 #1 Dell'Otto and a couple snips of the recorded sales for that specific variant. That jump from the last recorded sale in October 2012 to the next one in January 2016... how does that happen? Are there two different Dell'Otto X-23 #1 variants? Is this just a failure in GPA's data collection?

I showed you the demand. That Elektra #2 book sold extremely well and was sold out at most LCS stores. It was a hard book to find.
It was a 1:25 variant... How are you still not getting this?

Where's the cool cover books that are worth money but aren't rare by design? Maybe that Jock Tec 880 cover?
That's what I'm trying to find out. It's apparently a very sensitive subject for some reason.

How do those links support the position that there are covers creating sustainable value or demand? A cool cover just doesn't drive value these days. Most of the books in the threads you referenced are limited edition prints... manufactured collectibles. They're the Bradford Exchange of comic bo
