Probably somethjng like this: "blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah".......9.4

The OO is planning on submitting the book for grading and I will follow up and keep this post informed of any results, thanks!

I thought so too, but only the centerfold is effected which seems rather odd given the silverfish wouldn't likely be selective. Most silverfish damage effects more than just one page especially when it's in the middle of the book. But that's not to say you might be right. I'm assuming it wouldn't have any effect on the grade below 5.5 I would think.

There are no missing pages. The last picture is the centrefold. It is still attached at both staples. The page is "missing" between the top of the bottom staple to just below the top staple. It is not a stain, it does not appear to be anything related to insects or rodents as nothing else in the entire book exhibits this kind of oddity.

Not my book. I was asked to clean and press this book. The first two pictures are the before pictures. The final group of pictures are after the clean and press. I was happy with the results as was the owner who was only looking to have the book present better. Note: The interior centre fold is attached at both staples however in the last image you can see the "damage" to the middle portion of the centre fold. The damage does not appear to be related to worms or rodents. There is no other damage to interior pages. I've never come across this before and I am not certain if this effects the grade or not. Any thoughts? Much appreciated in advance.

I think the book presents well and without the holes would likley grade about an 8.0 maximum without the holes. The corners are just not sharp enough to grade any higher than that in my opinion.

7.0 the book presents quite well but the staple holes are the "nail in the coffin" here. Sorry that you're eBay purchase was not a success. Thanks for posting!

Silver Surfer #10 = 7.0 (+2) X-Men #87 = 9.2 (+2) Jungle Action #21 = 9.0 (+2) Web of Spidey #51 = 5.5 (+2) Y: The Last Man #1 = 9.2 (+1) Consistent if nothing more +9 this round and another basketball score for me Thanks Mike for all your hard work again! And all the others who contribute to this wonderful (but frustrating) contest! Cheers to all the participants!!

9.0 IMHO I don't think that is a colour rub on the "L" in Marvel at the top of the page. I think it is a printing defect and would not effect your overall grade. Having said that, I wouldn't take my word for anything given my performance in the latest grading tournament LOL Thanks for posting!

PGM Amazing Spider-Man 252
timfinz replied to lollyclown's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
9.2 IMHO soft corners and a number of spine tics would prevent this copy from grading any higher. I don't believe a clean and press would improve on this grade either. Thanks for sharing! -
PGM....Swamp Thing # 46
timfinz replied to Ahsoka Tano Jedi Apprentice's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
8.5 IMHO as the book stands, mostly due to the dirt and bottom corner bend. A clean and press should definitely help and I would think 9.4 or higher is achievable. Thanks for posting! -
7.0 IMHO Thanks for posting

9.0 IMHO nice copy that could improve with a clean and press. Thanks for posting!

9.4 IMHO More and better pictures would be helpful, thanks for posting.

9.2 IMHO There are a number of small spine tics that could be improved with a C&P. There also appears to be scratches on the front cover just to the right of Wolverine's left eye in the black of his costume. I don't think there's anything that can be done to enhance this area. Maybe the OP can confirm if these scratches are there or not as they don't appear in the first full cover picture. Thanks for posting!
