I don't know about that but this is the first book I got back that's loose. I'm still new at the slab game but out of the two I sent this year this one is the only one that has it....I'm used to not getting graders notes but a loose book shouldn't be the new norm.

Some wiggle is considered normal. If it's sliding enough to damage the book, definitely email them.

If you're doing the registry 😄😜 use a screenshot of his social media post for the back cover picture 😂

Or don't, haha,  but it does make for a good story!

Nice though! He at least always used a marker with full ink!  :x

Mis-remembered. Some were done in car shop waiting room. It's impressive how they send them home with books and they keep the grade!

Some time spent learning about comic grading will save you money and heartache in the future. 2c

No better way to learn, than lose $40-70 and get an 8.0.

Then avoiding the Ebay Sales tax form not sent, for stuff I wouldn't have made "profit" on, making a "tax form" just more "work" to explain I didn't owe anything lol

And FYI this is the Invincible that I kept, which cost me $80, should sell eventually for at least $300, which is profit even after fees :)

Becoming a regular occurrence for me too. With them changing threshold for 1099s, still extra paperwork even if you sell at loss.

ha cha cha!! that is a nice looking sketch!

I'm kicking myself on that cover though, I found it filed under some random books at the LCS priced at $8. LCS owner was like ah where did you find that? I said something like over there in a bin and showed him, he adjusted the price so I passed, ended  up with only the Campbell cover of number 9 or something, with Cat's back turned in front of a woman on a couch (or something anyway that cover)

I instantly enjoyed the cover when announced on his website, but after having a few from before, I didn't want to again go down that rabbit hole lol

It's definitely gone up in price (maybe possibly manipulation). I don't think I'll ever be able to get another. :x

Sabine being French, was the most fitting to send. Think you've got #7 with Odessa on the couch.

I believe they did, when shipped look up the cert number, which is the submission number and adding on the number order in which the book is on the submission.

(Submission #) +001 (for first book in Submission)

(Submission #) + 002 (for 2nd book in the order on Submission form) and so on!

Would live to see a screenshot. :)

I don't see the scan. Maybe I'm blind. :wavingwhiteflag:

That said, I did notice the signature from Campbell (in my sig) lines up perfectly with the one she posted on IG.

  6. Frank Cho remarque / Nakayama signing went to GEI today.

Going to peak at the Remarque with the new imaging available right away or wait for the real thing?

I don't usually pay for imaging, did they start including it free?

She posted one on Instagram while NYCC was happening. Assuming it was mine, I think I already saw it. :x

Hello NickiO. I greatly appreciate your response. This is the most expensive slab purchase I have done, so I thank you for letting me know concerning the condition. I believe my biggest concern is with the shifting in the slab, as you can hear the clashing of the plastic protector around the comic with the inside of the slab. I understand a bit of movement may be common, but even movement like this is common?

and thank you for the offer! I would happily consider the membership upgrade!

From experience, the slabs for thicker books tend to have a little more wiggle room for inner well. Sometimes reholdering will lessen it.

Hello! The 6-8 week turnaround times start after the signing has taken place. Until then your books will be stored in our signature series safe. Please note, these cutoff dates are scheduled weeks and in some cases months in advance for the signing. This is to allow our team ample time for processing before the signing. Thank you for your patience. Let us know if you have any other questions!

I noticed a couple artists (not Gaiman) were posting pictures of their sketches online during NYCC. How soon after would the turnaround start?

  9. Unfortunately, the quality control is going down the latrine... Next scuffing/debris will be considered acceptable. Was hoping with the policy change, they'd put more resources into QC... My last submission had scratches, mislabels, and dirt in the cases.

It's sad that so much attention is given to grading, but not QC. A few pixels of color rub is detected by graders, but dirt/scuff/Newtons aren't.
