  1. Works fine for me as well. Maybe a few more premium memberships would help to make it even more stable if it really is a problem. Its a great site that we all can use.
  2. Very late to comment here, but I totally vouch for Mike. Been doing business with him for 20 years. Always top notch.
  3. Here is my Darwyn Cooke piece. The Spirit Cover. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=764366
  4. Hi not sure if I ever shared with you that I had uploaded a historic page featuring Spider-Ham. Its a nice page from his very first Peter Porker - The Spectacular Spider-Ham Book. here is a link: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=3018
  5. I know this is not helping, but if a deal looks too good to be true, most of the times it ends like this. This particular piece was offered all over the place and was tempting no question asked.
  6. How do you know a piece is an original ?
  7. Any chance to reach out to them ? Pollard or Hall ? Usually they remember or can identify their own stuff.
  8. Hi, quite a lot of the artists did draw at the como convention. Adam Hughes had the pre made commissions with him but also actively drew. The only artist I think that did not draw, or at least I didn’t see him draw, was Mignola.
  9. The thrill of buying art will always go up and down. If you decide now to slow down, you might miss out on a piece that you afterwards regret not buying. This will make you buy more for the next period of time, before it slows again. Been there, done that. Another reason was pricing. I remember going to shows and walking away with having bought nothing, being frustrated because everything seemed so expensive. This resulted in not buying anything for a while before it happened again that the interest to actively buying came back.
  10. Awesome ! how come the frames are so different in size ?
  11. I am collecting Comic art for over 20 years and I have ZERO interest in sketch covers.
  12. Wow. Perfect place to let everyone know who that person is, otherwise a fellow collector may get burned.
  13. Ok understood and agreed. But we are talking a couple hundred k here. The way this thread started I got the feeling that we have to be concerned about a 10 k item to be a fake. And I wanted to know if there are stories about main stream, normal artwork being faked.
  14. Unfortunately I have a very recent story regarding lost / stolen artwork. I had bought a Spider-Man strip on eBay. See pictures below. The shipping address is a business adress and there is no Saturday delivery. The postal office is aware of this, regardless somehow the postal office apparently delivered it on a Saturday. What exactly happened, who knows. It is assumed that they had the package on a stack of packages that they delivered on that Saturday to a different business. Fact is however, that my package never showed up. To everyone in the Philadelphia area and suburbs, please if you get this piece offered, shoot me a message. It is not a high value item, but still very frustrating.
  15. All this sounds like it’s a huge issue in this hobby?
  16. Are there stories of fake comic cover ? I am aware of Landis. Anyone here to shed some light into this for everyone ?
  17. Sorry for hijacking this thread, if anyone has a Batman cover from this period and artist, please PM me. Actively looking.
  18. It’s much easier to keep stuff on stacks
  19. What is the price tag on that McFarlane Batman piece ?
  20. And I really really would like to know where this piece ended up. Sorry for re-addressing this.
  21. I did it. Once. And only once. It is just too large and there is way too much passepartout if you know what I mean. My recommendation would be to frame the artwork nicely and then get a separate small frame for the comic.
