There is a thread that shows framed art in general, why don’t you look through there for inspiration. A personal experience, wall space (usually) is limited and every item I had that was either a framed DPS or a cover plus the published book next to it, I replaced because for me the frame was too big and I did not like that it took so much space. I mean do the math, it probably has around 27 inch width and 22 inch height. That is big. It’s cool....but takes up a lot of real estate.

I agree that condition should be mentioned, but HA as being a premier auction house should put much more effort into researching what they offer. Is it up to me to research it myself whether a piece that interests me was published or not, or if stats are on the piece or if the image of what they offer is exactly how it was published, sure I can do this myself. But we are paying 20 % BP and it should not be up to us to send them multiple emails to inform them that a piece they offer does not match the published piece and they don’t respond for close to 1 week during the time the auction is online and other people bid on the piece. And I am not talking about a minor change, I am talking about obvious stuff that doesn’t match. I just don’t get it and it frustrates me.

Fair assumption, but that’s a lot of love for a companion piece. What would be the estimate if it would have been the published cover?

Can someone explain the Batman 313 piece to me. I mean the piece is nothing like the published cover. Every component ist different, reversed, the other side, nothing. Not even production notes. How come it sells for 22,800?

The published cover was at an exhibit last year. This piece might have been part of the published cover, but who knows. But seriously, 22 k for this?

You are right, nothing they do is acceptable and to say it enhances a piece makes no sense.
