  1. Hugh Jackman's The Wolverine Initially Had A Much Larger Role In X-Men: Apocalypse

While commercials for X-Men: Apocalypse spoiled a surprise appearance by Hugh Jackman's popular character Wolverine, early drafts of the -script had the clawed Canadian with a much bigger role in the X-Men movie. In an interview with CinemaBlend, producer Simon Kinberg explained that Wolverine originally trained the new generation of X-Men for combat. "There was a version when he was going to come in at the midpoint of the film and be like the drill sergeant for the kids and take over as their leader," said Kinberg.

However, that plan was scrapped as it interfered with the story arc for Jennifer Lawrence's character Mystique, who has become a central figure in the X-Men movie franchise over the last three movies. "We felt like that stepped on [Lawrence's] role in the movie and becoming their leader," Kinberg said.

The Wolverine Cut - I wonder what that movie would have been like.

Here's a good question: Does Wolverine still remember the old universe that was reset by DOFP. The impression i get from the end of that movie is yes, everything that happened in the original movies he has to remember, because otherwise he wouldn't be so surprised to see Jean etc. Or is it, that everything that happens between the end of DOFP in the 70's and the end end of DOFP including what will happen in the next movie, will be lost when he wakes up on that day?

I'd think that any memory of events during DOFP would be lost, what to speak of his future memories. There was a point when Kitty Pryde had trouble keeping Wolverine's mind in the past & he woke up not knowing what was going on. Professor X said that he took some bad acid to keep him calm. lol
  2. Again, after seeing the trailer, I have to ask, "Who is the antagonist in this film"? Didn't see anybody. (shrug)
I'd say that every character is an antagonist in this film. lol

I was thinking the same thing as I typed, but you know what I mean. I will be disappointed if it is the Joker. He's not what I think of as a Suicide Squad baddie.

If you discount the villains then it's probably Batman, but I hear he only has a cameo in SS (hope not :wishluck:). It didn't seam like Joker was part of the team from the trailer, so that's always possible. (shrug) They usually take a lot out of context in trailers though, so anything is possible.

To my knowledge, the only actors roles that haven't been revealed are Scott Eastwood, Ike Barinholtz, David Harbour & Alex Meraz. It wouldn't surprise me to see the new Robin show up in this film though.

  3. But Queen Inc is no longer Queen Inc.

And Gotham was even worse than Arrow last season.

    :wishluck: it's not a crossover

Oliver just became Mayor in the finale. I guess he rebuilds Queen Inc at some point over the next 8 years. Would be better than seeing it or Palmer tech in Felicity's hands. Was happy to see the board members booted her out.
  4. Apparently there will be a Gotham/Arrow crossover next season.

Arrow Season 5 Episode 2 Synopsis:

Oliver meets Bruce Wayne. Deathstroke escapes the Island. R'as AL Gaul escaped Death, Malcolm escaped Hive, and Damian Dhark escaped Star City.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5584142/?ref_=ttep_ep2

And don't forget Fish Mooney

    Oh happy days . . .

sorry are we sure this is a gotham crossover? or is he just meeting bruce wayne? Those aren't necessarily the same thing.

Not a crossover. Although Gotham has never stated its exact year the producers have stated that if Batman exists now (2016) this is before that. It is clear with the technology used, sets, cars, even the computers it is 1980s / early nineties.

I'm not sure if you remember but the end of the 1st episode of Flash had shown Dr. Wells/Thawne looking at a newspaper dated April 25th 2024, stating Wayne Tech/Queen Inc merger complete.

I'd say there is a good chance a crossover is coming.

  5. Fourteen Fox produced Marvel movies & zero Billion dollar Fox-Marvel grossing film.

How difficult is it to produce a Billion dollar grossing film??

Considering there are only 25 films (not counting for inflation) to have grossed 1+ billion & only 6 Superhero films, it's certainly not common. Although Marvel has gotten 4 in the past 5 years through 13 MCU films. hm Then again, DC has only pulled it off twice. (shrug)
  6. Uhhhh. This was a disappointing ending.

27 mins until the end of the world...and they spend about 10mins discussing Ollie's and the world's lack of hope.

I so wanted one of the nukes to hit Felicity.

Seriously, in AoU Jarvis was barely able to pull of what Felicity Smoak could ???

It felt really corny at times.

I guess there will be flashbacks in Russia next season. I really hope they stop with all the back & forth. It was cool with the 1st few seasons, but this season it was just awful.

I prefer Laurel Lance's Black Siren persona on the Flash over her Black Canary on Arrow.

They should have killed off Felicity, her mom & Captain Lance, rather than Laurel. I liked Felicity in the flashback hacker episode from S03E05 "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak", but other than that, the character kind of irritates me. Especially the way she gets Palmer tech after leaving Ray for Oliver & then leaves Oliver for keeping secrets. suicide.gif

If Felicity played that cool hacker rather than the stuck up blonde, I would be much more into the show.

  7. But, but, but..... it's the Enchantress.

    Me wants the Enchantress.

I can totally relate. I'd like to see her also, but they will probably leave her till phase 4. It would be nice to see the Enchantress show up in a cameo at least, to save the Executioner, only to become her servant instead of Hela's in the end. If they bring the masters of evil together after Infinity War, she will surely have a main role. That would be a long wait though.
  8. Connect the dots.

Cate Blanchett has been cast as Hela. Karl Urban has been cast as the Executioner.

You don't pay Cate Blanchett and then bring in yet another actress to play yet another female villain.

They are going with Hela instead of the Enchantress in this movie.

Also their is already an Enchantress in DC's upcoming Suicide Squad so they are probably trying to differentiate away from that name.

Besides, the God of Hel & the Executioner who sends them there, seems to have a nice ring to it.
  9. :o

Michael Keaton Back in Talks as Spider-Man: Homecoming Villain

While actor Michael Keaton had once passed on the role of the lead villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it looks like he could still take the job after all. Keaton is back in talks with Sony and Marvel, Variety reports, and is close to a deal that's beneficial for all.

The first rumors of his casting hit in April 2016, with signs pointing to the Vulture as the main villain of the film, coincidental since Keaton recently played a retired superhero actor famous for his role as "Birdman" in the movie of the same name.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are producing the film together, but Sony is funding the Spider-Man solo movies, and apparently concerns over actors' salaries came up after they signed Robert Downey Jr. to the cast, reprising his role as Tony Stark, Iron Man. Downey, it sounds, will be the primary connecting factor between the Marvel Cinematic Universe's previous films and Spider-Man, after Stark recruited young Peter Parker in this month's Captain America: Civil War.

    :whee:
  10.

I think they should have led w/harley instead of suicide squad. Harley could have 'deadpooled' before deadpool.

as has been noted, it can be very tough to hit ALL the notes when you're doing a bunch of characters. BvS could barely balance the stories of 3 characters properly.

They're trying to 'GOTG' instead, which isn't bad if they can do it....

There's like 15 main characters in SS compared to the 7 or 8 in GOTG. Seems pretty crowded to me. I expect Infinity War will be just as crowded, but they have 2 films to work everyone into the picture. It could be tough doing that in 150 mins with a new series. That's an average of only 10 mins per character. I hope they make it work. :wishluck:

  11. What really jumps out at me with this data is Deadpool's Revenue Ratio. 13.1!!!! I wish I could have invested in that movie. If Ryan Reynolds had any production money in that movie, he just made a budtload of money.

The 1989 Batman movie too! Impressive Revenue Ratio.

And it took this many years for any DC or Marvel movie to pass up the Batman (1989) record. I wonder if there will ever be a movie now in our lifetime from DC or Marvel that will surpass Deadpool?

    Maybe Deadpool 2. (shrug)

All we can do is watch and see. Hopefully the second movie is able to maintain that uniqueness that caught everyone's attention.

    :wishluck:

It's certainly remains unique compared to any other Superhero movie. I don't think they'll change things up to make the film appropriate enough for China. It would have made about $900+ million with China. At any rate, Suicide Squad is bound to give Deadpool a run for it's money, but they probably spent $200 million making that film, so there will be no comparison ratio wise in terms of profit.

  13. Well, I've been watching previews and I'll definitely be there to see it.

Other than WAAYYYYYY more jennifer lawrence than I care for (1 minute is to much) I think it looks good.

What's your issue with Jennifer Lawrence?

She's annoying. I prefer Rebecca Romijn Mystique.
