  1. Robert Downey Jr. Trolls Fans With Funny Spider-Man: Homecoming Tease

    robert-downey-troll-185102.jpg

When Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark met Marisa Tomei's Aunt May in Captain America: Civil War, I can reasonably assume that some fans saw some potential in the pairing.

Downey Jr. decided to throw out the subtlety, however, and posted a photoshopped image of him and Aunt May getting to know each other far better than Civil War let on, with the caption "Auntie May I?"

    lol

:roflmao: I can actually see this playing out.
  2. If Quicksilver is grabbing people and carrying them faster than an explosion can propagate he has killed them I am afraid. He also cannot drink a soda in the midst of this because water takes time to fall down his throat by gravity. I know it's just a comic book movie but the willing suspension of disbelief has to end somewhere. Otherwise why not just have Unicorns appear whenever they need to be rescued and have them making pizza out of rocks when they are hungry.
I know, it was way too drawn out. When I saw Quicksilver jump on that table mid air & time kept moving slowly while it was gliding through the air, I just rolled my eyes & said, "come on". :eyeroll:
  3. Superman to Guest Star on Supergirl

Whoa, talk about a huge announcement from the executive producers at Supergirl! The "World's-First-Superhero-Sized" Elephant in the room is finally going to be filled! To welcome Supergirl to The CW in the first two episodes of season 2, Superman himself will appear on the show. No, not like he has before with glimpses and boots but a real actor to portray the Man of Steel! The Executive Producing Team has this to say through a CW release:

Greg [berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” says executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!

:o Come on, make it Tom Welling! :wishluck:

    +1000000000000

:wishluck: I really hope Tom will play Supes also. Regardless, this is good news for the show.

    Henry Cavill :sumo:

  5. i think is going to end between $600 - $700 million.

    No way Jose.

It will be lucky if it gets to $600.

    -J.

It really depends. It's doing much better Internationally. I'd say it brings in about 160+ million domestic & between 400 - 450 International depending on how well it does in China (probably 120+). I don't think it can earn much more than 600 though.

Seems like most movies are doing below expectations this year. I'm not just talking about Superhero fatigue either, it seems to be hitting all genres. They're just coming out with too many movies in too short a time frame & pulling them from theaters faster than ever before. BvS for example, is coming to DVD just 12 weeks after it's debut. We use to wait around 5 months.

  6. Stephen Amell Suggests Four-Night DC Crossover Event

Ever since it was announced that Supergirl was coming to the CW for its second season, speculation has been brewing about crossovers with other DC shows on the network. Supergirl has already crossed over with The Flash, so fans have begun wondering whether crossovers with Arrow or DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are far behind. Shortly after The CW announced their Fall 2016 schedule, the network also promised a big four-way crossover in which all of the superheroes join forces for a major event.

At a recent event, Arrow star Stephen Amell discussed how he thinks the massive crossover will take shape as well as the one thing that he really wants to see when Supergirl and Arrow finally meet.

“I think what we’ll end up seeing is one giant four-night crossover. No seriously. [Much applause] How we’re going to end up doing that… I don’t know. But, this is kind of an unprecedented moment in terms of the history of network television. To have four shows, same showrunner. Obviously Supergirl is in a little bit of a different universe, but we can fix that. That’s one line of dialogue and it’s all fixed. So I would suspect Oliver will be meeting Supergirl at some point.”

Amell further elaborated on a possible Arrow/Supergirl crossover, describing the main thing that he wants to see happen if or when it finally occurs. According to Amell:

“All I want to see is Supergirl fly and David Ramsey’s reaction to it. That’s really all we want to see. And I’m still mad I haven’t shared a scene with Victor Garber yet, so as long as that ends up happening I’ll be good.”

A four-show crossover would be quite the experience. And the CW can do this now without any boundries.

    :wishluck:

    :whee:
  7. Guess who would rather be back on the show?

Legends Of Tomorrow Star Suffers Gruesome Injury On Prison Break Set

    dominic-purcell-injury-184752.jpg

Dominic Purcell survived time travelling adventures as Heatwave on Legends of Tomorrow, but despite easily handling immortal despots and armies of powerful soldiers, it's his return to Prison Break that has seriously injured the actor.

While filming the return to the FOX series, which will see a mid-season premiere after a few years off the air, Purcell had an iron bar fall on his head in Morocco, drawing blood from his head and breaking his nose twice.

The 46 year-old actor was taken by helicopter to a hospital where he got "100 stitches" in his head and "a free nose job out of it." "I'm good. Thanks for support. Had a little accident on set," Purcell wrote on his instagram. "Pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your head!" He thanked God for his "Viking heritage" and seemed to take a pretty positive stance on it all.

    :ohnoez:

While I'm very happy to see Prison Break coming back, I'm really sad that the never brought back John Doe back to life. I really loved that show. I hope Purcell has a quick recovery. He certainly has a great attitude. (thumbs u
  8. You're ignoring the fact that our bodies are just vessels for the soul. They evolved through the process of evolution, and Darwin showed examples through the study of the animals on various islands. He also showed how evolution can be highly specialized.

A prime example were the different types of beaks that evolved with the birds on each island. They became specialized to their environment.

My theory is, the energy you speak of is the energy of life. The lifeforce chi that permeates the universe and could very well be woven into the fabric of space/time. Concentrations of this energy provides the "spark" to turn inorganic molecules into organic chains. This could be the Higgs Boson particle that so far eludes scientific study.

Now, as far as intelligence goes, I am in agreement that it is older than most people can comprehend and being at the cusp of separate thought from other animals, we tap into what I call the stream of consciousness. I am not totally sure if this consciousness is older than the universe or not, but it has been proven to me to be linked to all forms of intelligence. Both local and alien. Whether this is actual background radiation energy or simply something that exists on its own...well one day I will further my study.

I don't know how you can say I'm ignoring that fact, when that's basically what I'm pointing out.

Birds having different beaks particularly suited to their environment doesn't provide any proof of evolution. It just provides proof of different varieties of birds. Seeing a caterpillar turn into a butterfly is proof of it's evolution.

The Vedas say that There is 2 souls within every living entity, one is the the individual soul or atma & the other is the Supersoul or Paramatma (an expansion of God to watch over the individual soul). The Paramatma is described as existing within every atom of creation.

I find it quite interesting that there's a large deity of Nataraja performing His dance of destruction right outside of CERN.

There's was a man named Edgar Cayce whom you have probably heard of. He was known as the sleeping prophet & was able to tap into what he called the Akashic records. A source of information that seemed to pervade global events & he was able to provide all kinds of info that would only be proven many years after his death.

Since this is the Apocalypse thread & deals with Egypt, it's interesting to note that Cayce in a trance said the Sphinx & the Pyramids are roughly 12,000 years old & were created by Atlanteans after the fall of Atlantis. Now despite that Zahi Hawass will deny this till his dying breath & advocate that they were built by Egyptians, I don't believe they were. Research has been done proving that much of the weathering around the Sphinx was caused by water erosion, which would put it's date back at least around5,000 - 7,000 BC.

Cayce said there was a hidden chamber under the paw of the Sphinx, where 1 of 3 hall of Atlantean records were stored. Seismographic readings have been done proving that there is in fact several hidden chambers around the Sphinx but Zahi Hawass has prevented any further examination into their existence.

Akash is a Sanskrit word that refers to the sky or ether. Considering that this planet is enveloped in a magnetosphere, I would hypothesize that the world is actually creating a record of events just as we have done with magnetic cassette tape in the not so distant past.

I stopped reading after that. You don't understand the concept. That is not evolution.

Just because it's not the same evolution you're talking about, doesn't mean it's not evolution.
  9. The Ultimate Edition trailer.

    batman-v-superman-ultimate-jena-malone-184585.jpg

The first couple of seconds of footage featuring Jena Malone, who was cut from the theatrical release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, showed up in the "Ultimate Edition" trailer released Thursday. The shot of her is very brief - literally a couple of seconds and a couple of lines - but it is the first tangible hint at who she might be playing.

"This is what makes you such a good reporter," Malone's mystery character tells Lois Lane (Amy Adams), "Stuff like this still shocks you."

And that's it. With a smile, a shake of the head, and those two lines, Jena Malone comes and goes in the new trailer. So just who is she? Previous speculation and rumors have included both Carrie Kelley, the Robin of the classic Batman story The Dark Knight Returns (which was pulled from significantly for this film, especially when it came to character design) and Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon and civilian ID of the vigilante Batgirl and eventually Oracle. Of course, both of those characters are traditionally redheaded in the pages of DC Comics, a hair color Malone has sported, prompting much of that speculation. Now, we see that she's rocking bright blond hair in this movie, which seems to throw those out the window.

    Blonde hair? Carrie Kelly!?

Ya, I'm not a fan of her look here. Much prefer her look in the hunger games. They should have stuck with the natural brunette hair. Maybe it was meant as a disguise though.
  10. You're ignoring the fact that our bodies are just vessels for the soul.

I don't know how you can say I'm ignoring that fact, when that's basically what I'm pointing out. Just read my signature quotes.

  11. I do believe in evolution, but I certainly don't agree with Darwin's theory of it. Looking at similarities between different species over any given period of time, will never amount to proof of his theory.

He did far more than look at the similarities between species. What from Darwin do you disagree with? It's not at all off-topic related to the X-Men given that evolution is the entire fictional explanation for their existence.

Science maintains that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it simply changes form. If you take the life force or soul to be spiritual energy, then according to science, it's eternally changing form. I believe we devolved from spirit into different material species through the process of reincarnation. I don't believe for example that humans evolved from monkey's though. We can see how a fetus evolves from birth to death, but we can't however witness the process which Darwin describes, therefore it remains theoretical speculation.

According to the Vedas, man has always existed & at a much superior level than today. It describes people performing supernatural/mystical feats like remote viewing, telepathy, telekinesis, size & weight alterations, shape shifting, etc... like you'd read in today's comics. There is also mention of a multiverse & much of quantum physics/mechanics was brought about through the study of the Vedas.

Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger, Einstein, Tesla, Oppenheimer, etc... all read Vedic literature. Apparently Newton’s entire work in Physics and Calculus was taken from the Vedas and Kerala book of Calculus.

  12. Agent Carter: Hayley Atwell Will Do ‘Whatever It Takes’ For Season 3

Despite its fan-base and the traction of other Marvel Cinematic Universe-based TV shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter was axed by ABC after two seasons—evener after ending on a jarring cliffhanger. The cancellation of the TV show, a 1940s-set spinoff of Captain America: The First Avenger, didn’t go over well with its audience, inspiring over 115,000 viewers to petition that the show transition to Netflix—arguably a smart move, considering Marvel already has a home there.

Now, it seems fans aren’t the only ones making noise. Hayley Atwell, who plays the eponymous Peggy Carter, has said that she is willing to do “whatever it takes” to bring Agent Carter into its third season. The actress recently appeared at the 2016 MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, where a panel attendee tweeted out a series of her quotes. Atwell expressed her love for the Agent Carter character and (despite headlining Conviction, a new ABC legal drama) said she would be willing to “shoot on the weekends” if it meant bringing Peggy back to the fans.

Dominic Cooper, who plays Howard Stark, recently spoke out during a panel at MCM London Comic Con earlier in the week. “I’m well up for doing more Howard Stark, and I know [Atwell and James D’Arcy are] up for doing more of their characters, so fingers crossed,” he said, speaking on behalf of himself, Atwell, and D’Arcy, who plays Stark’s butler, Edwin Jarvis.

    :wishluck:

That would be awesome if they could make that happen.

I actually preferred watching Agent Carter instead of AOS.

This is really good news. I like this show & am happy to see the main actors defending it. I don't see why they wouldn't want to move it to Netflix. Seems like all of Marvel's non Netflix shows are getting sh*tcanned.
  13. God, I hope not. :wishluck:

I'd much rather see Yvonne Strahovski or Emily Blunt get the part.

    Or even the better candidate.

    tumblr_o6l4qsronI1qa7vi3o4_1280.png

I could get behind that. ;) Never really seen her in anything though. My brother watches Vikings & the 1 episode he got me watching didn't really peek my interest. I prefer Game of Thrones. She does look like perfect for the part but a bit older than I would expect them to go with. She'll be 40 by the time Captain Marvel starts filming. Although Yvonne Strahovski & Emily Blunt are 5 - 6 years younger, Katheryn Winnick might actually look younger than both of them. (shrug)
  14. Or does The Wolverine take place before DOFP. lol I am getting lost...

Trying to remember exactly which movie Xavier and Magneto confront him in the airport to go back in time...

    Was it The Wolverine?

Yes, it was in the Wolverine. So the Wolverine takes place prior to present day in DOFP. I'd think the new Wolverine movie takes place after the present day time line change at the end of DOFP. I guess it does get a bit confusing. :ohnoez:

This movie has been quoted as taking place "in the future", which I interpret as after the final mansion sequence in DoFP.

    Exactly!

That's what I was basically saying. Must have gotten lost in translation.

The way you said it makes more sense to me. I have to rewatch everything to get it fresh in my mind to remember what sequence is tied to what.

If X3 and Origins weren't so gutwrenchingly awful, none of this would have had to take place.

    :roflmao:
  15. 2) Didn't love the extremely specific Biblical references used by Apocalypse. Quoting/invoking the Bible to reinforce a "God complex" always feels like it cheapens the characters and is just bad writing - felt out of place in a super hero movie. Made Apocalypse seem like he was possessed by a demon rather than an uber powerful ancient mutant.

Humanity didn't know what mutation was until Darwin in the mid-19th century, so isn't it likely that Apocalypse DID think he was a god? I didn't see it as a complex, I saw it as objective reality from his perspective. If you're the most powerful being in existence for tens of thousands of years, that sounds like a god to me. While I agree that Apocalypse's character wasn't well-developed, I don't yet agree that he was the victim of bad writing. Quite the contrary, I'm still more intrigued by his origin and what he went through over the ages of time than anything else about the film.

Well, in ancient Egypt the rulers were considered the god's.

I saw the movie & it was ok. Certainly better than BvS imo, but not nearly as good as DOFP.

I know it's off topic, but since you brought up Darwin, I can't help myself.

I do believe in evolution, but I certainly don't agree with Darwin's theory of it. Looking at similarities between different species over any given period of time, will never amount to proof of his theory.

  16. Or does The Wolverine take place before DOFP. lol I am getting lost...

  18. Maybe a break from Bond. How about a Moneypenny adventure? What does she do while 007 is away? Also, I'm thinking I might like Emily Blunt as Bond more than Gillian Anderson. Is Elizabeth Hurley too old?
I think it would be interesting to see a female James Bond & a male Moneypenny. I can see Martin Freeman playing Moneypenny & Gillian Anderson as 007. It would certainly bring something new to the franchise.
  19. It's not. I've read every Byrne X-Men and Simonson X-Factor so many times that I've committed them to memory. It's not. There may be a few small nods here and there, but as a whole it's absolutely not. No way.
you haven't seen this movie or have you?

I've watched it twice now. First go-round to enjoy it and the second to pay closer attention and catch things I've missed.

That's two more times than I've seen it, I haven't even made it out to see Civil War yet.

    (tsk)
