  1. Wowee! Bucky socking Hitler and the Skull! Very cool. Great looking book!
  2. I'm really tickled to finally have a copy of this issue. Not a high-grade by any means, but I think at least the colors are still pretty good on this one.
  3. There was a gentleman at Wizard World Chicago last year who had a number of the signed lithographs at his booth. Saw him again at C2E2 in May. Thought he said he would have a few more at the Chicago Comic Con in August. I'll pm his name and phone number to you.
  4. Congrats Chris! That's certainly a difficult issue to find.I hope I can see it in person in a few weeks.. You bet, Russ. (thumbs u I'm definitely looking forward to the May show in St. Paul.
  5. I actually ended up buying it on Sunday from Jeff Weaver, although I didn't notice it until late in the day Saturday.
  6. Finally able to corral one of my favorite Cap covers in Chicago last week (along with the rest of the book).
  7. Kudos to ajaxfarrell for a couple of his nice comic clocks. Did a great job with positioning the images on the clock face, and the colors really jump out. Thanks again, Jim.
  8. Beautiful book, Schlep. I always think the Brenner Pass sign makes this cover even cooler.
  9. 40+ years of waiting is enough! (thumbs u The Vikings have been around six years longer than the Saints, and have the same number of Lombardi Trophies in their trophy case.
  10. Very cool! Were cardboard covers peculiar to the World's Fair/World's Finest run, or were they fairly common back in the day?
  11. Very nicely done, sir! Do you own many Hawkeyes?
  12. It's true. It went from him to me, then back to him, then to Ricky. Now to you. The next question is: who are YOU going to sell it to?? (I'm interested ......) I'd kind of like to keep it a while. I just must not be as picky as the rest of you guys.
  13. I'd like to thank MrBedrock for all his help with this book. I bought this book raw from Richard without seeing it in person. Richard judged the book to be about a VG. He prepped the mylar for the Signature Series signing and lugged the book with him all the way to the Baltimore-Con for drop-off with Sean (NYComics) for the signing at Joe Simon's home. As you can see, Richard nailed the grade, and I'm pretty pleased with the end result (it even kind of glows now). Frisco-Man and Xavier Logan both claim to be past owners of this book, so the book seems to keep finding its way back to this neck of the woods.
  14. Hey Rich, I wondered which FF you were working on. Great choice on the White Mountain #16. One of the best Doom covers!
  15. Kudos for the second time in a week to Crazy Canuck for another smooth FF transaction. Well-packaged and quick shipping.
  16. Kudos to Crazy Canuck for a nice White Mountain FF. Quick shipping and nicely packaged. Smooth transaction. Thanks very much, Kerry.
  17. Your basic Cap war cover. Start of a nice little cover run for Syd Shores. Always like how so many lower-grade golden-age books with their heavier paper and inking still present reasonably well.
  18. Hmm, I suppose that would make some sense. Well, very nice book anyway, regardless of when you got it.
  19. Hey Steve, great looking All Winners 11. You didn't mention when we were looking at those lithographs at WW Chicago that you had such a nice copy of the original book.
  20. Moving to the other end of the grade spectrum, this copy has seen better days, but I always find WW2 covers hard to resist.
  21. I just checked my CGC copy, It is a classic cover. Excellent! I'm happy to hear that (even though I sadly don't own a copy). I was just going by my Overstreet guide, which for some reason doesn't list it as such.
  22. That's a fun pickup on the Cap 27 tonight, Ferdelance. Always seems to me this should be designated a "classic" cover.
  23. Very nice Cap 47, Schleprock! Great-looking book and last Cap war cover. I sometimes wonder, due to Marvel's ret-conning, which of these issues retroactively became the last Steve Rogers Timely issue before he was frozen in ice near the end of WW2 and others assumed the Captain America persona. I also wonder if I should be worried that I wonder about such a thing.
