Recent pickup in Chicago. Always think this is one of the best Cap fight covers.

Always like to hunt at conventions for modestly-priced (i.e. cheap) Archies and Peps from the 40's and 50's with neat covers. Last week in Chicago I thought this book fit the bill. Had to chuckle at the first story. This issue is from early 1955, so it was probably put together right after Seduction of the Innocent and the 1954 Senate Committee on Juvenile Delinquency hearings. Fun read from a different era.

I'd say we've got the back seat identified. It's possible the two in the front were not real-life individuals, but the level of detail Syd Shores put into the driver suggests to me they probably were. After looking through some old photographs, my best guess is Albert Speer is the driver and Wilhelm Keitel is in the passenger seat. I doubt we'll be able to be as definitive on these two. But thanks for taking a look and I'd be interested to hear if anyone has other guesses.

Actually, I don't know the answer for sure. My guess is it's Goering, Hitler, and Goebbels in the back seat.

Had to go back and take a look at Annual #6. A quick trip into the Negative Zone to battle Annnihilus and bring back a little something (I'm not quite sure what) needed to save Sue and the baby. The birth of Franklin. Most of those annuals were well worth the money. And I like the Thing/Doom fight at the end of #40, too.

I'd say more than respectable. Looking through some of your scans, I like how your books all seen to have decent registrations. For that matter, I like the fact you've supplied scans for all of them.

Never a shortage of great copies and covers in this thread. A while back Jimjum was gracious enough to coordinate a series of polls pertaining to favorite FF covers, which I think most FF enthusiasts enjoyed voting in and discussing. If we move inside the covers, what are some of people's favorite FF story lines? My favorites are the early Frightful Four story arc (specifically 41-43, with a soft spot also for 36 and 38 since they introduced these bad guys). FF 41 was my first comic book ever, given to me by my grandfather. I was probably a little young to read it and totally comprehend what was going on (for example it took me a while to figure out the connection between the blonde-haired kid and the fire guy, but maybe I was just a little slow). Still, it seemed like high drama and a good story anyway. When I look through those particular issues now the memories really come back. Probably not the greatest story arc in the run, and not the most sought after, but still my favorite. I'd enjoy hearing others favorite story lines, story arcs, single issues, recurring subplots, etc.

Very nice FF #5! Congrats on adding such a key issue to your collection. On a separate note, I noticed there are now at least two Rocky Mountain FF #48's. One just sold on the ComicLink Exchange, and the other is in the Feb/March Focused Auction. I'm always amazed by collectors who, for whatever reason, purchased two copies of an issue back in the day before these things were considered collectibles. Those were buys at the last ComicLink auction, weren't they, rube11? While the rest of the FF collecting community was fighting over Rocky Mountains, there were some reasonable buys to be had elsewhere, if memory serves.
