  1. +1 (thumbs u Loving these books! Congrats
  2. Just got this today, I had to show off it off.
  3. Rube is such a great guy to buy from. Absolutely perfect transactions, every time. I love his packaging with boxes specifically to fit CGC slabs. Keep them coming Rube !
  4. This is true of all books. All you can hope for is the relative number of resubs are somewhat consistent across the census.
  5. I think you have to have BOTH. They go together like ASM 121 and 122. Interestingly enough, the CGC census show exactly 30 books in 8.0 or higher for both BB28 and JLA 1.
  6. I wasn't really directing my comment specifically to Aman and if it seemed so I apologize. Sometimes I just get tired of hearing about the financials and how much money somebody made on a book. I would love to see some scans, hear some stories about the books, how you acquired them, etc. That would be much more interesting than how much money you made. I did a whole thread a while back on the various books that I had sold in recent yeras, with scans and history of how I'd acquired them. Yes, I do remember that thread. You went sequentially through your DC collection. It was an excellent thread. I couldn't wait to see more as you added books. Thank you for that thread. (thumbs u

  8. Damn, I remember the days when you could pick up a 9.4 for $60K. And aman would call you a nut for spending even that much! Good times. Just saw this little dig! All in good fun right? So here's my answer... You just about doubled your money in just under ten years.... While the other big books I DID pull the trigger on (instead of upping my heritage bids and costing one of us another 20K perhaps on the BB28) have done even better. Heck, my 9.0s are up maybe 300-500% in less time if an 8.5 is is now a reliably 40K book. . I think you should be thanking me for bailing on the bidding instead of zinging me for being wrong. Sorry for any "what do you collect sonny" tone in there... I passed on your biggest book and you did very well. We both did. Nuff said. Good times. :cloud9 Sounds like both of you should invest your money in some sort of financial instrument and leave the books for collectors. Collectors still exist, don't they ?
  9. First off, great books Rob. Congrats. Seeing the conversation about DD 81, first Black Widow, I had to show off one of my prized possessions. I owned this book raw, it was submitted by me. Pedigree and a Double Cover. [/url
  10. Brian, I thought the same thing when I saw you post the 9.2 . Hang on to it. I don't think this is a strike while the iron is hot situation. Good advice here from Frank.
  11. Gator, what do you think of this grading. Before and After.
  12. Don't forget they have to wait to be encapsulated first, then QC, then to shipping. There's no official timeline here.
  13. Whadoya have the grade at? At least 6.0 (thumbs u You going to submit it? Very nice book. keeping it raw to enjoy. Loving those pages. Good job. Congrats (thumbs u
  14. Bob Storm's post was indeed a breath of fresh air. Regarding your posts in that thread, for the record, I did not take umbrage with your comments. You seem like a knowledgeable, passionate collector. However, you were taking the conversation on tangents = people were losing track of the big picture. The thread was important and we needed to stay on track, that's all.
  15. That's a really good looking book. Congrats !
  16. I wouldn't exactly call your run a 'poor man's run'. Looks pretty rich to me !
  17. Gemma, thanks for the reply. Does one have to have a paid subscription to submit a reholder request ?
