  1. Wow. That "X" really did a number on the grade of that book. Looks VFish otherwise. Perfect kind of copy to me. I hear ya. I'm sure some passed on the book due to the location of the "X", but I got a nice deal on the book and I'm happy with it. It does look very nice for a 5.0. No marvel chipping or other pieces out, no large creases, and most of the spine wear is on the back cover, so it is delightful I thought the 'X' was simply Stan Lee's signature ! Nice book, the 'X' is not that obtrusive, very clean otherwise, especially for a 5.0.
  2. These are some good looking 9.2's. I guess, if you want to get the uber grades, you need to get the new Costanza Facejob look.
  3. There's not much marketing data on raw Playboys. There are some CGC sales noted on Clink. From what I can ascertain, unless you have uber graded slabs, from the first couple of years, there's not much value. Decent stuff from the 60's may go for 10 - 20 bucks a book. The stuff from the 70's is really common, probably 5 bucks a book. These are just guestimates from my experience at buying them occasionally.
  4. Incredible books all around Richard !
  5. CGC, if I have a book that is already slabbed without a pedigree designation but I know it is a pedigree, what do I do ? Is it a reholder option or a complete resubmission ? Specifically, it is a Green River Ped, red date stamp, verified by Brad Hamann (Green River Expert), etc. Please advise. Thanks.
  6. I purchased a JIM from Alan and I would like to say the transaction was perfect. Great communication, fast and safe shipping, and a great book. Thanks !!!
  7. Great book, Twin Cities ped should look great in hand. I was real close to bidding on that book last night. The Sunday Night Heritage Auctions have some good deals. Congrats !
  8. Wow, that book looks so fresh, the cover colors are still poppin. Congrats !
  9. Why do you think CGC downgraded it? Hep, thanks. Not sure what CGC saw. There's a slight color rub on the Front Cover. There's a couple small chips on the Back Cover, otherwise very clean. Here's a pic of the BC....
  10. Great submission. Knowing your love for Marvel, will wee see a Sales Thread soon ?
  11. Thanks! I'm really stoked about getting all four at once. Nice choices. All the books have excellent eye appeal for the grades. Congrats !
  12. Really strong colors on this copy. It was love at first site.......
  13. My last purchase from Wizard World today. I figured I would leave on a high note.
  14. I am a White Page junkie and I love pedigrees = I have seen a lot of nice pages in my time. I have a few slabbed Central Valley funny books and I cracked one of them open. I have never seen fresher, whiter pages. These books are from the 40's = 70ish years old. An Amazing pedigree for Page quality.
  15. Way to go, Bob! Here's its former partner... Wow, they probably spent 50 years or more together in a box. It's nice to see old friends get together.
  16. Assuming you are refering to my X-Men 9, the mentioned one inch CB bend is not CB at all. I took the pic at an angle looking down and it is getting a reflection. In hand it's just a slight bend, breaking no color at all. Trust me, I am an eye appeal type of collector, I would not have tolerated a CB bend.
  17. Just picked this up at Wizard World from Greg Reece.
  18. After seeing Asteroid-Comix copy of X-Men 9 I was motivated to get a copy for myself. I never owned an X-Men 9 before. I found one at Wizard World.
