ComicConnect and ComicLink August auctions
Bomber-Bob replied to Gotham Kid's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Good observations and I concur. What's important to me is that I can browse through the Clink site so much faster than CC. I hate CC's vertical, stock information about the book. Does anybody seriously bidding on an AF15 not know about the contents ? CC should bring in Doug Schmell for their writeups, they could use some flare ! -

I would not be surprised. He's really Vinnie, isn't he ?!? -

Hey, I thought you had me blocked ? Since I have your audience again, let me review those marvelous personality traits you have. You bully, you mock, and now you gloat. -

Okay, the OP chose Metro. Still doesn't prove anything other than Vinnie is a good salesperson. -

The OP has has been asking this same question in various threads for a year now, without ever showing a picture. -
Comprehensive List of DC Universe Logo UPC Variants
Bomber-Bob replied to revat's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
No, it is way too high for me. I'm used to paying single digits for these. I wonder if anyone here paid 95.00 last month on E-Bay for it, or maybe it is Fake News. -
Okay, now I see them but they are NOT above the photos. They are in the left hand column, next to the photos. Never saw that before. How did you do that ?

Because they saw a Sold sale on E-Bay for 95.00 Best Offer, they are asking 75.00 . -
Comprehensive List of DC Universe Logo UPC Variants
Bomber-Bob replied to revat's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
It's funny you mentioned that one as I recently saw it but passed because of the price. Is it that valuable/rare ? -
I doubt it, I know nothing about them, suspect others don't either.
-
You have to list a selling price. 'PM for negotiations' is not a legitimate sales thread.

Sorry but those are terrible pics to attempt to give grades. Some did stand out with some obvious damage. You mentioned bags but not Boards. If these are only bagged and not with Boards they are much more susceptible to damage. I think you would be better served taking the pics against a solid background and displaying them here vs a link. Also, please only list one book at a time and don't bombard us with too many at once.

Comprehensive List of DC Universe Logo UPC Variants
Bomber-Bob replied to revat's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I thought collecting the DCU books would be a fun and challenging project. While I still consider it fun, it has NOT been much of a challenge. I seem to find them without really trying. I have not bought a single issue online, just finding them locally, and I have something like 120 unique issues already. This is after about a year of collecting them. -
I would not remove the staples. No matter what, you are going to be downgraded for 6 pinholes through the comic.

Please grade my Silver Surfer #1
Bomber-Bob replied to Georgie123's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
How can you say the interior is in great shape when your picture shows a big junk out of the splash page ? That is a huge stain on the BC, I suspect it permeates into the pages. The front cover is completely detached at the top with a spine split. At best, it looks like a reader copy. I'm not good at grading in this range but I do think 3.0 would be a gift grade. Sorry. -
CGC census is high, but there aren't enough keys
Bomber-Bob replied to valiantman's topic in Comics General
I'm not sure I understand what this thread is about ? As someone else mentioned, too many words. I read the original post a couple times can't find a question in there ? Also, the title says 'CGC census is high, but there aren't enough keys' , What the heck does that mean ? -
Sorry but IMO, this would be a complete waste of money. The only chance with a book like this is in a high grade CGC slab, something this example will never be.

Folds vs Missing Peices
Bomber-Bob replied to Ozonetv's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Sorry, I don't like the overall look. A book with all those wrinkles and creases should not look that flat. I do like the spine alignment. You should put it in a slab where the unnatural flat look will not be as obvious. -
I'm sure the OP is very happy, the book sold for a rather remarkable price considering how it looks. Would be a high GPA. I have a suspicion this is the kind of book you will see bounce around in the marketplace. For a 3.5, you could find a book with much better eye appeal. This proves FF 1 is truly on fire.

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?

I spit on CR/OW page books. They are worthless to me. They should all be sent to PGX. Better yet, first send them to the guy that presses with his iron. The ONLY reason anybody buys a CR/OW is because they sell for so much cheaper. These are the buyers that probably buy cheap hamburger meat rather than a steak. They can usually be found, unsold, in 50 cent boxes. I think I saw a pile of CR/OW slabs the other day at the Goodwill with a discounted sign. How can anyone even call them a collectable ? -

I don't think most people know this Jaydog. Why don't you explain yourself ?
