  1. All I was saying was how much attitudes in the comics industry changed in a brief 5 year period. And, to me the vocalist in that Beatles cover sounds like Jon Bon Jovi.
  2. How strange then that within 5 years his style became the industry standard.
  3. That's not a bad critique for a first attempt. There's the implication that they're happy with the way he's drawing feet, at least.
  4. That is fantastic. Yup. That's because Jack Cole was a genius.
  5. I'll see what I can conjure up. Here's a few more... Kind of reminds me of hotel cons from ye olden days. Not that there's anything wrong with that! It looks just like a typical British comic mart, as run by Golden Orbit, and especially so because of the TV Tornado Annual in the first image.
  6. You should post some of your favourite Klaus Nordling splash pages as well.
  7. The colours, the perspective, the clock...it just really struck my fancy the first time I saw it when Marty Mann posted it.Just tickles me pink, you know? And ive had a terrible ti e finding one.MM also has a Star Spangled comic with a clock on the cover, well clocks that I love. They are no my thing, but those two covers really are special to me. I like that cover. Biro did some good ones.
  8. I wouldn't mind owning that copy. I'd need time payments, but I could go to £50 a week?
  9. Although Cat discussed this in another thread, and it's a fairly obvious choice, nonetheless it's my personal favourite S & K Red Skull splash page. I particularly like how evil and cadaverous the character looks here and how toned down his appearance became after the Golden Age, in comparison.
  10. +1 I've only just discovered this thread, and it's absolutely fascinating to see what was going on in the hobby, stateside, back when I started collecting in the 70s. A shame that no-one's posted anything from the UK.
  11. Bobbins, in English slang, means rubbish, terrible, , and so over here that combination has often been referred to as Frank Bobbins and Don Hack.
  12. The absolutely 'superb' artwork of Frank Robbins gave it away.
  13. Jimmers, just curious, over in GA I asked what it is that you particularly like about Daredevil 37?
  14. Huge fan of Wally Wood. Recognised the art style.
