  1. I’m really looking forward to it. I enjoyed Watchmen, Sucker Punch and Man of Steel, and so I expect to be equally well-entertained by more from the film’s very talented but much-maligned director. I know this statement will polarise opinion.
  2. Get well, Jimmers. The boards need your humour, warmth and friendliness.
  3. It was a privilege and an honour to have known him.
  4. Just having a break from watching it for the first time on Blu-Ray. I'm about half way through and my opinions are, maybe, quite biased by having just had a couple of glasses of wine and being slightly buzzed. It's an excellent action film ; great direction, camera angles, cinematography, pacing. Basically one long action scene and so far it's kicking arse. Petrol is quite unstable and would deteriorate rapidly, and it is extremely unlikely that enough would be available to run vehicles of the size and weight seen in the film but, after all, it is fantasy.
  5. Accurate grading, superb-looking books, shipped with care. Very pleased.
  6. Northern England has suffered badly over the past few weeks. Lots of damage all over the place.
  7. Very reclusive. Like a combination of Salinger, Pynchon and Ditko. Assuming that he hasn’t been abducted, of course.
  8. On my God! Who drew that,it's terrible. This gets my vote. Looks like Carmine Infantino.
  9. Batman and Robin's expressions look a bit constipated there. Definitely struggling. Never noticed that before.
  10. There was also Shock Suspenstories by EC, which had some hard-hitting anti-racism stories.
  11. I think ASM #16 is one of Ditko's better Spidey poses - he's lithe, fluid. The Daredevil figurework spoils it for me. Very stiff-looking.
  12. I never noticed it before. The right hand looks okay, but the left hand is very poorly drawn.
  13. Always reminds me of the insectoid Martians from "Quatermass and the Pit".
  14. Clever choice, Kav, if you've read the comic. No bodies to draw, in any case.
  15. I don't have the book but this has always impressed me as the ugliest key cover of them all. Always looked like more of a pulp magazine cover to me. That's all. The blue in the cover is actually quite striking when you see a copy in hand.
  16. Glad to hear. The water level did get quite high.
  17. Do you think a porcupine could take out 48 voles! Guess id need more for a vole skin lining for my coat though...i like a three quarter length. Im sure a good Northern tailor could swing it...ive heard they are tops.. A Canadian, human-porcupine hybrid? They'll get owned. Several ways it goes down... 'I have 48 voles.' 'We have a Porcupine.' Or, you could go Dark Age, 'Savage Sword of Jimmers' on them.. 'I will decorate my quills with the ratty, little heads of your fallen.' Either way, it requires intimidation - because voles are bullies, preferring strength and safety in numbers. One might say that they are a cowardly, superstitious lot.
  18. I have no idea what you're talking about so reading this post completely out of context is like I've edited the original post to make it clearer.
