For me, the most noticable track in Doom is 'Mouth for War' by Pantera.
I didn't get that on my PC version!
I’ve played versions of Doom with two different soundtracks. First one, an extra on the X-Box's Doom : Resurrection of Evil disc, is tinny, synthesised MIDI with what sounds like bit and pieces taken from classic metal songs. The only one I remember is the Pantera track. Doom on Playstation had completely different background music, with lots of creepy, ambient, classical stuff; like listening to a choir in a gothic cathedral. Very effective, much superior.
