  1. Wow! A quick check of the census says there are 3,942 slabbed copies of that book in all grades, with God knows how many raw copies out in the wild. That's the first three pack Bats 251 I've ever seen. I'm eager to read the posts of the experienced three-pack collectors around here about how uncommon that pack must be.
  2. Interesting -- I'd heard he's appearing as a force ghost in the next Star Wars movie.
  3. Adventures on the Planet of the Apes 5,6,8,9 Defenders 99 Marvel Presents 5 Marvel Spotlight 33
  4. Take -- Creepy Things 3 Defenders 94 Magnus Robot Fighter 42 Marvel Presents 3,4 Marvel Team-Up 12 Super DC Giant S-25 Turok 91,95 Unexpected 210 @ 25% off
  5. Dropping by to recommend a new biography called The Art Thief, by Michael Finkel. It's a book about Stephane Breitwieser, an obsessive thief who over the course of his career pulled off more than 200 heists and stole an estimated 2 billion, with a B, in artwork, sculptures, antique instruments, weaponry and so on. The most interesting part is that he kept it all -- he was building up what he hoped would be the greatest collection of art in private hands in modern times. So, you know -- collecting, obsessions, perhaps a borderline hoarding disorder...nothing that I or possibly anyone else here can identify with, I'm sure!
  6. Maybe these last two sales will shake a few more copies loose?
  7. An even more tattered copy sold for $196 USD a few weeks ago. Batman 324 WHITMAN VARIANT Aparo cover Novick art Selena Kyle 1980 DC Comic | eBay
  8. Batman 324 certainly seems to have become one of the more desirable Whitman variants out there. (Not my copy.) Batman #324 DC 1980 Catwoman Whitman Variant VG/Fine | eBay
  9. There are definitely golden age books there, however, you won't find a stack of them bundled up at a blowout price for a quick sale (like you would with bronze, copper or modern books).
  10. MarBru -- this sales thread is five years old. Also, sirwesker hasn't logged in since 2021.
  11. Hey gang -- does anyone know if there's a way to tell the difference between a first printing of the Moon Knight Omnibus and the second printing, without removing the shrink-wrap? Thanks!
  12. You're welcome, I hope the gods of bin diving smile upon you!
  13. I will try to answer some of your questions. First, you need to go to their website : NYCC Returns October 12-15, 2023 (newyorkcomiccon.com) In order to get tickets you should become "verified" by NYCC. Once you are verified, you will receive an email on the day tickets go on sale to purchase them online. It's all explained on the webpage. I'd advise buying your tickets the way NYCC wants you to, by going through their verification process. (You also have to remember to activate your badge.) I'm pretty sure special guests charge whatever fee they want for autographs and photo ops. It's not uniform across all guests. There are dealers there who sell blowout sets of Broze, Copper and Modern titles. Silver not so much. That said, it's an expensive show for them, and if you have a fat stack of comics I'm sure most dealers would work with you on price. Books that are marked-up are the keys-du-jour, and some key books will still be offered at pandemic prices. Don't expect big deals on major keys, even if they're readily available, like IH 181.
  14. I like the Unknown Soldier. I have everything from his "first" appearance in Star Spangled War Stories 151 to the final issue of that title, 204, then continuing with the title change to the Unknown Soldier beginning with 205 to the final issue 268. I also have Our Army at War 168, the Unknown Soldier's other "first" appearance. I keep talking myself out of getting a complete run of Warlord, God help me.
  15. Was he the last one of the usual gang of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons to go?
