  1. Depending on how you sell the comics, it takes a lot of time and effort. How were you thinking of doing this? On your own, you'd have to scan, list, pack, ship, deal with buyers, etc. How much is your time worth? You first post doesn't mention your day job, time with family & friends, other hobbies, etc. However, If you enjoy selling your books this way you might maximize your profit, as opposed to option #2 -- If you try to sell to a dealer, be aware you'll probably need to leave a lot of the "good stuff" in there to make buying the whole collection a more attractive option, rather than being cherry-picked.
  2. Anybody thinking of picking up the O'Neil/Cowan Question Omnibus due next month? Never read the series back in the day, but I hear it's good stuff.
  3. Dang, nice pickup, Aaron! @batmiesta can you translate what "I'm Vampirella, Fly Me!" means in American?
  4. I watched the episode last night and I honestly can't recall anyone referring to her as the Scarlet Scarab. What did I miss?
  5. I'm very curious where the sealed model kits come from. Unsold dead store stock? Warehouse finds? Where people cognizant enough to keep sealed kits for future speculation some day? Also, is there a way to determine the shrink-wrap is authentic? Perhaps by looking at the placement of the seams? I know resealing video games is a common concern.
  6. There are many copies of this book out there. I don't recommend buying a stained copy, when there are plenty non-stained copies available. Will your eye always be drawn to the stain? Some down day the road, will a potential buyer only notice the stain? It's not a tough book. You may find it harder to find another buyer willing to accept what you overlook.
  7. Dead T.V. shows, you say? How about... Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man 64? Or more recently, how about Runaways 1?
  8. My advice is go for the IH181 while you have the funds. That damn book is going to keep rising in price for a long time, barring some global catastrophe. If 6K can get you a copy you can enjoy, and the money is burning a hole in your pocket, make the leap. Personally, I enjoy GSX1 more (for the story and characters), but that book will always be second fiddle to IH181. In fact, I bought my copy before my 181, and the prices of 181 went up in the meantime. (Although this was longer than two years ago, when things started to get really frothy.)
  9. I have four kids between the ages of 12 and 18. I know this is anecdotal, but... My kids and their friends enjoy the comic book movies, both Marvel and DC. But they read manga. Manga is where it's at for Gen Z. And I have no idea why they find manga preferable to western comic books. I've asked them, and they can't explain. Which, I think, secretly means that western comics books are essentially old-fashioned dad-stuff. If you want to speculate, start buying first editions of Demon Slayer, One Piece, and all the others, because if Gen Z gets the urge to collect dead trees, that's what they're going to be chasing.
  10. Over the weekend I read that Marvel is reprinting the Dan Slott She-Hulk omnibus, which is great and also a no-brainer with the tv show coming up. Also read that Dynamite will be publishing the John Buscema Marvel Tarzan omnibus, full run + annuals. I'm looking forward to that one!
  11. Well, they might transform into a big pile of money for HBO Max.
