  1. Great film. The first X certificate I saw at the cinema.

I would get it on Blu-Ray, but there are some comic strip sections inserted into it throughout. Don't think it really needed messing around with like that. A pity.

Seriously?? Never heard of comic strip sections connected to the movie. Either way how utterly ridiculous.

Still have my VHS copy on my shelf.

Yup, no kidding. Luckily I checked the reviews on Amazon before purchasing it. No other DVD / BD version available.

PM for you mate. (thumbs u

  2. Noobs who haven't been here as long as the thread laying the law down. Noobs who say spoilers weren't discussed before, when they were straight after the first episode of season one.

This place has gone to mess.

    Grow up.

    lol

That wasn't even aimed at you. It was actually falling on your side of the argument but hey ho, there ya go.

    lol

  3. Agreed, it doesn't make sense. It sort of does, though, when people may want to jump in and shoot the shart with the fellas and talk nonsense or catch up on the chatter regarding old episodes. The thread should not exclude that, but it does when Johnny Nalgas chimes in to shoot the shart and reads that Michonne and Andrea had got it on just two days ago. Someone in another part of the world may not have seen it yet. (shrug)

What it comes down to is pretty much exclusion. Like I said, I could care less. I like spoilers. Some may not. People like spoiler tags, some may not. Darned either way. Separate threads or a consensus? I'd rather scroll through spoiler tags than pages of biatchin about it.

Amen Julio. How goes it my man?

  4. I usually still get buttfarked,:

I do. The best one of all time was a $25 slab that I sold to a Canadian, not knowing he was Canadian. I sent him an invoice for $35. Then he sent me his addy. I tried to get more bread out of him for shipping and he told me a deal was a deal and to go fark myself. :whee:

    I still love Canada. :luhv:

Kudos on minimising your... Naa, I can't do it twice.

    Numbnuts.

  5. People are free to ask what they want. If potential buyers don't like people asking for fees to be covered then move on, the sellers will eventually get the message through lack of sales.

On a side note though, I think there should be dispensation for buyers who pull out of deals when hit up with fees via PM after posting in a sales thread that didn't state the seller expected 3% added onto the price if they then end up getting mentioned in the Probation Discussion. That's a wanker's trick and should be treated as such.

  6. phil..come on man...you cant lurk the TV sub thread and not expect spoilers..

i hate to say it..but i am firmly entrenched in the  camp for people who complain about spoilers in the TV thread!

Really? Do the same general rules that comics have to hide spoilers for the first 3 or so days not apply to a show?

I was lurking for info about it, not spoilers. And you're right about the website. Re-watching it again, hoping it does't out like last time. :wishluck:

It has been clearly posted before in this thread that live discussion as the show is going on is allowed and spoiler tags are only needed for upcoming episodes and leaked info.

Hence this is the official discussion thread, not the official 3 days after the fact discussion thread. Anyone who comes in here before watching the most current episode not expecting us to be discussing it is just asking for trouble. There isn't gonna be a single online forum that has an official discussion board for this show that doesn't have everyone discussing the most current episode.

About the cars, the zombie outbreak is only roughly 1 year into the whole thing at this point in the show based on the timeline as I understand it. Now when everyone starts rocking iPhone 5s and Windows 8 tablets we will have an issue with product placement. :insane:

    This.

This is exactly my point and I'm really confused about why no one is understanding me.

When a new issue of the comic is released, the generally common courtesy of members (most of them) that post in the "Official Walking Dead Comic" thread, hide spoilers for a few days out of respect for other posters. Why this isn't translated into the t.v. thread with the same courtesy is confusing to me.

If you look back at the conversation, I HAD been watching the episode, and then I had problems viewing it. I came on the boards and was given a helpful answer by another board member, and nested right below it was a nice big spoiler; which is conveniently deleted now and offers me a little reassurance in my stance.

Because the other thread isn't just about the comic. People post original art, talk about eBay sales, variant covers, etc... There are reasons people click on that thread besides the comic book story. The OCD that they are going to miss some tip for a WD investment causes them to click on the thread before they read the newest issue and demand spolier tags. So we accommodate them and use spolier tags.

This thread is just about the TV show. It's exactly where people should be discussing it after it airs. 2c Honestly, what did you expect people to be talking about on Sunday night right after it airs?

A bit of courtesy for the people outside the US where the show doesn't get aired until Friday coming? Ever thought they may like to talk about the episode they've just seen without spoilers of one that hasn't even shown yet?

  7. Convince me that a world famous brand didn't think that 37k was too few copies.

    Here's Nov 2010 sales:

Outsold by Buffy would make you optimistic I'm sure. I can see your point.

Now the complete Runs - 871 - 881 are selling:

This last one is the best this month.

But you have to divide that by 11. And bags and boards and what you paid in the first place.

Getting $5.10 for a $3 comic after storage + postage after 2 years isn't what I would call hot.

    On it's own:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DETECTIVE-COMICS-871-1ST-PRINT-HTF-VERY-RARE-HOT-1ST-SCOTT-SNYDER-BLACK-MIRROR-/300797826811?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4608f296fb

    Sold yesterday - $8.

    Detective Comics #871 - $14.25

    Detective Comics #871 - $16.50

    Detective Comics #871 - $29.95

    Detective Comics #871 - $16.99

That's just from a very quick browse through. You can state $5 from lots (of course it isn't as the other issues in the run aren't fetching $5 each) and you can throw up $8 sales, but you must have a strange eBay search criteria to be missing the higher sales.

You must have missed where people have said his book will grow over time too, I don't believe anybody has said it's great for a quick flip. Which TWD obviously is at the moment.

  8. I didn't know who said it,and you are right,of course.

For a non-mainstream book that would be huge.

However to say that 37k is 'small' is disingenous.

In this case though, the numbers are such that any gain would be small and brief and not worth speculating 100 copies worth.

    37,000 for Batman is small....but.

DC aren't silly - if they thought they could have sold 100,000 I'm sure they would have printed them.

The 3k second print speaks volumes about DC's confidence abour sales.

    Cheers

You've sidestepped the point. There were 157k sales on Snyder's latest book. If those people all wanted a copy of Tec #880 it's not going to happen is it? It's got nothing to do with original sales or DC's expectations, but the supply and demand of the aftermarket.

  9. (2) Detective 871 (1st print) has a small print run of approximately 37K which is small for a DC Bat book. It is the first book that Scot Snyder wrote for Batman and has a classic cover.;

    (3) Detective 880 is the first time Scot Snyder wrote a Joker story, it has a modest print run of 35K and an amazing cover by Jock. It may be my favorite Joker cover ever. While all three of these books have been getting some heat thanks to Death of the Family, I expect that they will get huge heat once that story gets in full swing and people realize how hard these books are becoming to find in top condition (particularly the 871 (2nd print).;

I just sold a copy of #871 and #880 first prints raw on eBay and they didn't perform anywhere near to where I thought they would. Both were NM+, and the #880 was the only copy on eBay UK at the time of listing, and it fetched £9.50 (around $14.25) whereas a copy listed as VF/NM ended at £16.00 (around $24) just 12 days before. There's plenty of mileage in that book but I think it will take a while to reach its peak.

The #871 did fare slightly better finishing at £11.01 (around $16.50) which seems to be at the higher end at the moment. Again, plenty of mileage in the book but I think this one will peak before #881.

In summary I think I should have pressed them and slabbed them as they would have fetched 9.8, and the census isn't exactly bulging with 9.8s of either book at the moment.

    Kudos on minimizing your return.

Couldn't be arsed to sub them.
