  1. Kudos to GCStomp for quick payment and great communication. (thumbs u
  2. How did that happen? Did he take it out of the window bag?
  3. That's a cool book! Heckuva lotta sigs!
  4. Maybe not what you're looking for, but I enjoy Laura Martin's coloring work.
  5. Big thanks to Par2ch for this one! Love it! When I get a chance, I'll upload the last few sketches he put on the shipping boxes.

  8. I'm fairly certain this is the book that led to my girlfriend and me meeting Pirate. The Trimpe line was pretty long and he only needed one sig, so he asked me to get it signed for him while he watched from the side since I was almost up to the table. He had no idea I was a witness but he asked me about CGC when I pulled out a few window-bagged books. A pretty cool coincidence if you ask me. Glad it got a grade bump! It looks REALLY nice!
  9. I can't believe this thread got to the second page! Time to change that. A few SS copies I got back recently, signed by Stan Lee, John Romita, and Gerry Conway. And here's a book that I believe to be cursed. The guy who sold this to me bought it as a 9.0 Universal and sent it in to have Lee and Romita sign it. During the signing, someone's Sharpie touched the spine, giving this a color touch designation. It was a 9.0®. He offered to sell it to me and I told him I'd buy it if he could get it to a witness in time for the Gerry Conway signing. As you can see, the book got signed, but somewhere along the line it suffered some damage you've got what you see here: It's a darn pretty book in my opinion with a great spine and rich colors. When I called for grader's notes, they mentioned a tape pull on the Goblin's bag that wasn't there before. I should note that I'd trust that particular witness with my best books and I don't blame him at all. Too many places where it could have been damaged to pinpoint exactly where it was. Regardless of what the label says, I'm psyched to have a set of this storyline, let alone triple-signed copies. You don't see that very often on these issues. (thumbs u
  10. That's the Michealangelo 1 shot. Each of the turtles has one...Raphael's 1st print is in Magazine size, but the rest are standard size like that one. It's a relatively common issue, but it seems to be somewhat tough to get in 9.8 condition (4 on census, last I checked). It's part of the first run in the TMNT series. The Raphael one-shot introduces Casey Jones as a character and the Leonardo one is part of the main storyline. If you've ever seen the first live action movie, the Raphael one-shot is reminiscent of Raph meeting Casey in the park at night and the Leonardo story was adapted to the movie as the part when Raph (replaced Leo for the movie) is alone and gets ambushed and badly injured. The Donatello one-shot is a tribute to Jack Kirby, a big inspiration to Eastman and Laird. Not vital to the main storyline, but a fun read. The Michaelangelo also isn't vital to the main storyline, but it fleshes out Mikey's character a bit and it's a bit lighter in mood as it's a Christmas-themed book.
  11. Great books, Rich! Be sure to post the others when they come back!
  12. I don't even know what it's about. When I first heard the title, I thought it was a Resident Evil comic.
  13. Thanks for the confirmation. I remembered the story and given his age, something didn't seem to fit. He was trying to convince me he had the best stock of TMNT books out there...he just didn't bring any of them with him. Again, great books. I hope your #2 comes back a 9.8.
  14. I remember reading your story about that TMNT #1 and how your buddy urged you to buy it when it came out. Cool stuff. You subbed it at WWTX 2008, right? I came across a dealer in Georgia who kept telling me that he owned the sole 9.8 TMNT #1 1st print. Was that you, or was the guy lying? Anyway, cool that you have a Raphael in 9.8 as well. I saw that a universal 9.8 popped up. There are 3 other 9.8's, but they're all SS books. It's a tough book to find in grade. Fantastic books!
  15. Just for my own education, what benefit to you find from laying them flat instead of upright?
  16. Kudos to Chainnball (Brian) for yet another fantastic transaction!
  17. The Magazine-sized issue? What grade are you looking for? I'm always about spreading TMNT love to younguns. Shoot me your address via PM and I'll mail you a 1st print. Merry Christmas! Bah! You beat me to it. I had a copy laid out and everything. But at least they get their book. That's all that matters to me. (thumbs u
  18. The Magazine-sized issue? What grade are you looking for? On another note, I just saw this and wanted to know, counterfeit or the real deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250548278839&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123#ht_1281wt_1556
  19. Thanks again, Par2ch! My first ever sketch of Bender Bending Rodriguez (Hecho en Mexico).
  20. Big kudos to Par2ch (Dan) for an awesome book. You don't know how big a fan of Futurama I am. Bender's my all-time favorite character and Dan REALLY hooked me up with this one. Even signed by Marcus Fenix himself, John DiMaggio. Thanks!
