  2. Ugh I would love these but I’m saving for wondercon. If they’re still around after next weekend you’ll have my money for sure!
  3. You’d think so, but they didn’t even put it in the grader notes. I’m half tempted to resubmit but at most I could hope for a .5 bump
  4. Grade came back lower than I expected TBH. I thought this would be a 1.5, MAYBE a 1.8. @joeypost did an INCREDIBLE job on this, getting all the cover wrinkles out and doing a cleaning; it looks so much better. But I guess that corner chunk was too much to overcome.
  5. I thought a few others had pointed out that sometimes the original image is being replaced once the book goes through the reholder process (Or if it’s a book that was originally stabbed more than 6 months ago, the reholder image is now the original image). Which means that image is worthless if it’s just a photo of the fake book you’re buying.
  6. Right…. Because the ONLY issue, documented in almost 170 pages, is some IH 181s. Not other books at all? And of the many others that have been uncovered, we know for a fact that those are ALL of the affected books? like others have said, it’s your page so you do you, but you’re burying your head in the sand and doing others a huge disservice. These aren’t wild accusations. If you’d bother to take the time you can see actual, verifiable evidence. The lack of statement from CGC is glaring and disturbing. Until I know the extent of this, if we’ll ever know, I for one am probably not buying any CGC slabs. I’ve made 2 purchases since this went down and both have been slabs from distinguished competition. I’m just one person but I’m sure there are many others like me, and would be if they had the info that you’re trying to block.
  7. Nah, no offense taken at all. I already have a 9.6 but maybe it’s an OCD thing but I want the best possible copy I can afford. It always rankles me a little bit knowing better copies exist that I could afford.
  8. This. ASM 252 9.8 was on my “will eventually buy” list and right now I wouldn’t go anywhere near it. And it’s not just that book. I’m extremely cautious pulling the trigger on anything because the lack of response from CGC makes me question how deep all of this goes.
  9. I thought this was going to be a 0.5, so I’m stoked with the grade I got
  10. So I already 99% know the answer but just wanted more opinions on what the highest grade might be with this big chunk missing. One staple also detached at center. Also there’s a lot of cover wrinkling; assuming this was pressed (and can be pressed) to remove a lot of that, would that make any difference? Thanks for looking!
  11. You’re counting Blip even though it’s not technically a comic? It’s a magazine. Are you looking for just the first appearance of a video game character in “comic” form regardless of the type of publication? Like if the first “comic” appearance of Sonic, for example, was in a strip from like Mad Magazine, would you count that?
  12. My understanding is that it’s grader’s discretion to include it, and that it’s typically only used for older comics. Pre-1990s comics are where it’s needed, so yes most likely copper and older.
  13. Can I get some opinions on this? Just picked this up from MCS and they have it graded at a 4.0. I’m going to get it sent to CGC, but would you press it first? It has “finger bends” and a small crease on the right hand side, but I don’t think it’s going to raise it out of a 4, regardless. What do you all think?
  14. Did you all get rid of the Zelle option for when you buy a consignment/auction item? It was a great way to avoid the buyer’s premium, especially when I’ve won items over $1k, but I’ve noticed it hasn’t been there on the last few items I’ve bought.
  15. Kraven’s last hunt is not a good story. It’s exhausting and repetitive and pretentious.
  16. Thanks, it’s been a nightmare. It took a weeks for the police to even take a report even though the Pop is worth more than $950, which is the threshold for felony theft in CA. When I would message eBay with questions such as “does this mean any buyer can now just claim “item not as described,” do a credit card chargeback, and keep the item?,” it was either ignored or answered with a form response. eBay is NOT worth it. I would never in a thousand years sell anything of value on there now because of what I’ve gone through.
  17. I’ve stopped on eBay because they’re so anti-seller. I sold a Pop earlier this year for $1300. eBay took their fees, I sent off the item, all good. A month later the buyer does a chargeback with her credit card company under the guise of “item not as described.” Since it’s a chargeback with the credit card company and not through eBay, eBay says it’s hands are tied, honors the chargeback, takes back the money they gave me PLUS the fees, and the buyer still has my Pop. eBay refuses to do more. I’ve had to file a police report and a report with the post office and my next step is small claims court. This is why I sell all my comics now through MCS. They’ll post it on eBay and on their own site and handle everything including returns. For sales they charge only 10% and if you do it as an auction on their site, it’s only an 8% commission.
  18. MCS is where I sell all my stuff. Less fees than eBay, and you also are NOT sent a tax form at the end of the year, regardless of how much you sell.
  19. Yep. I’m crossing my fingers for $200. I saw that MCS just sold a few for around the $150 mark, so I think $200 is realistic.
  20. I live in and am from San Diego. I’ve been going to SDCC every year since 1992. Movie/tv panels are nice but for me and many people they have NEVER been the overall focus or deciding factor for going to SDCC. Like others have mentioned, there’s too much other stuff going on for this to make a huge dent.
