  1. While it sucks for the creative team on the film, this move signals that 1) the new ownership and WB management team is focused on the right thing = , and 2) they may actually come up with a plan first for a more coherent DCEU on the big screen. That being said, it is a sad state of affairs when this is the situation with the DCEU on the big screen:
  2. Never Speculate/GAMBLE on DC! Way too much risk, too little reward. Outliers exist but they are far and away exceptions. Stick with Marvel folks, even if Moon Knight be seriously chillin' There is still easy money to be made on DC speculation if you pay attention, just like Marvel. And FWIW, right now it is the SW titles, not Marvel super-heroes, where the consistent wins are from the DIS perspective.
  3. I agree and did small spec buys on them just in case. I can see the Marvel 2099 universe becoming an animated D+ series.
  4. The first Predator film will always be the best for me, but this looks like it could be a decent film. Hopefully it lives up to the initial hype.
  5. @greggy and @aardvark88 You lucky guys are always buying books at depressed prices in BC.........
  6. I will see if I have those and drop you a PM if I do. No luck. I thought there were more but there are just a few issues from the Image series.
  7. Less competition means it is a great time to buy for reasonable prices, especially if you can just cherry pick keys from estate/garage sales. Now is the time to accumulate good stuff at depressed prices.
  8. Not surprising. Right now the Rock can sell anything.
  9. I think it is coming as studios will have to weigh the need for content vs box office release. If you are spending $200M on a movie, then definitely start with box office first. However, if you can do it for $20M or less, the streaming may be a better bet to keep subscribers happy.
  10. For some reason I do not see anything wrong with that concept.........
  11. Ah, so another one of the "those that do, do, and those that don't critique and try to grab attention" types. If you want to know how things work in Hollywood, follow the money. It is actually quite interesting to see all of the pieces that go into getting projects advanced.
  12. Who is Grace Randolph? Seriously, I have no idea who she is.
  13. In the Madame Web movie from the look of things.
  14. I am curious to see how this plays out for Sony. If it generates a box office close to Venom 2 the I would consider it a huge success, and it would likely lead to spin-off solo films for some of the characters. If it tanks, I guess they tried and learned the same thing that Marvel is during Phase 4 and 5 - noone really cares about the B and C list heroes.
  15. It is interesting to see the current pricing on HR 1 cover A. They are selling raw NM for $40ish on eBay, and CGC 9.8s are down to the $80 mark. At that price, it does not really make sense to submit books for grading.
  16. Looks interesting. Basically, Demolition Man with Superman-like powers
  17. Based on the initial fan reaction to Namor, DIS has fast tracked the -script for a silent solo movie and hired a Director:
  18. Exactly. I guess we will see Kang starting out parking horses, then horses and chariots, then horses and buggies, etc. through time.
  19. Effing Marvel is cheaping out again and cutting out half of the rings of power...... "Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie." —J.R.R. Tolkien's epigraph to The Lord of the Rings
  20. I think Tom Lyle has everyone beat. Some of the tail end Jack Kirby fourth world artwork is horrid. Everyone looks like they are melting.
  21. I think part of the issue for the MCU is that they struck unexpected gold with RDJ as Iron Man and then the massive success of the first Avengers movie, as well as the well thought out build towards Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet as the main threat for Phases 1-3. Phase 4 is scattered, and it looks like Phase 5 is heading for more of the same. Right now there is no apparent coherent theme that they are building towards like they did previously.
  22. The Corinthian looks great in this latest trailer. Good move by Netflix to get it out as soon as possible - they avoid the House of Dragons and LoTR releases later in the month.
  23. The X-Men was a much better title than The Mutants from a marketing perspective.
  24. Was there anything on X-Men or the Mutants announced at SDCC?
