  1. It was based on facts. Late info the weekend of FOC, but it was there for every store paying attention. Granted, a lot of stores do not really order DC so they would not have paid attention, but it is not like DC did not let retailers know.
  2. I agree. That is why I speculate = placing bets based on facts. If any stores missed it then they were not paying attention to DC a couple of days before FOC......
  3. Speculating is pre-ordering based on information. Buying after the fact is chasing. You need to understand the difference to play the game. As far as stores ordering plenty, that is not what it showing up locally which is great. I am already getting e-mails from local collectors asking if I have any as their store missed it, and these are their biggest file holders. And, if the orders are so huge, then the dealer forums would not have as many complaints from stores that missed it/decided not or order it and are peeved at DC as a result.
  4. The only bad thing I can say about this show right now is that Season 3 is only 8 episodes. It would be so nice to have more.........
  5. Too bad that it sounds like a serious/darker Gorr movie would have worked. I guess the funny Thor is the formula for success at the box office, but something closer to the TGoT arc would have been nice.
  6. Now is still a good time to lock in copies if you do not have them, IMHO. The play is being telegraphed nicely. Novels, comics, D+ show(s), a video game, and eventually movies. I am curious to see how high the orders are for the Vol 2 HR and HRA later this year. They should be higher than for Vol 1 since it is not a surprise any longer, but who knows whether the economy and higher rates will dampen things.
  7. Wow. Has it really been a month since the last post here? HR and HR Advs prices are holding well so far. Things should get more interesting again when the new series launch in the fall.
  8. They are going for as high as $39.99 on eBay right now: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=batman+125+failsafe+cover+M&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1 From what I have heard, a lot of stores missed it as they did not want to gamble on the later solicit with no cover image posted, and they are voicing their displeasure now. While it is great for us that took the risk , DC left a lot of extra sales on the sideline.
  9. Looks like the House of Ideas is scraping the bottom of the barrel - blue skin knock off of Avatar franchise, Tony Stark wannabe for Namor.
  10. In 1985 that may have been an overpay Congrats on the nice copy, and even moreso for holding onto it.
  11. I take it the lack of comments in this thread is a sign of how hot the market is right now?
  12. Music set him off in the city the first time as well.
  13. Expect the shorter theatrical release and more straight to streaming as time goes forward. Maintaining a monthly recurring revenue stream that requires consistent new content >>> an extra couple hundred million from another 30 days in the theatre going forward. I expect films to eventually be down to a 30 day theatrical release time and then streaming, and more pay extra to view streaming from day 1 as well.
  14. I think Season 3 has been the best of them so far. I am not sure how they are going to top Herogasm though. As a one off episode it was brilliant encapsulation of the show as a whole - darkness, great fight scene, crazy supes sex party, even crazier warehouse scene with Kimiko and Frenchie, Octopussy, and the list goes on. I would imagine that this was the casts' favourite episode to shoot so far.
  15. I am looking at taking a short trip to Montana or Idaho this summer. Are there any comic cons in either state during the summer months? Also, any good stores to hit?
  16. I did medium spec on both Reign and WotBH due to the Crimson Dawn tie-in with an eye to it being a 2 year play. Seeing the Rahzzah variants spike already is a nice bonus.
  17. There should be some advance notice if that is the case. And looking at the new shipping rates, for us International submitters the cost is actually higher - right now I am paying $195 for Priority with signature, and now it will be $225. Time to look at a Fedex account I guess.
  18. Slowing down grading for the rest of us again.........
  19. This episode was better, but I wonder what form of Red Bull they have that turns a washed up Oldie-Wan that can barely stand on his own two feet against Vader and is cut off from the force turn into a more powerful that Yoda Jedi Master in a matter of days. Overall, it was typical DIS SW fare - nothing great, just more formulaic programming. That being said, I am fine with it if they keep expanding the SW universe. Sooner or later they will do something worthwhile again.
  20. Facial expressions and singing? Remember, it's all in the hips as Gal shows in the Furious 5 clip.
  21. Diego Luna visited Saddle City Comics in Calgary one day while filming there last year. The owners said he was great to talk with and he graciously agreed to do a signing for their customers a couple of weeks later.
