  1. I am not a Momoko fan to start with, and the Venom #1 cover actually lowers my opinion of her artistic abilities which I thought would be impossible since it was already so low......... In the end, it comes down to what Cates and Ewing do with the two series. That being said, Venom #1s sell at $10+ like clockwork at shows (just like Moon Knight). I have some hope for Venom based on Ewing's Immortal Hulk run, but Cates has been swirling the bowl writing wise for a while now and that does not bode well for the Hulk title a year from now.
  2. Why only 20 books at a time? They can fit 25 slabs in the large box, and shipping is the same for 25 as it is for 20. Don't worry about sending in too many copies of the same book. They grade based on the copy in hand, not in comparison between the multiple copies.
  3. Hopefully Marvel cancelled payment on this before it was too late. The Hulk cover looks like a masterpiece compared to it:
  4. As long as it makes them want to buy the back issues at inflated prices that is fine with me.
  5. This has to be the worst Momoko cover to date:
  6. Angry as in Cates talks a great game but delivers another mediocre story that I wasted $3.99 on?
  7. So what are the thoughts here re: Hulk 1 and Venom 1 on FOC this weekend?
  8. It is a gorgeous cover. I have been pre-ordering 50 copies of each Spawn issue recently at a discount with my LCS to make sure I get the 1:50s and I was glad to see them use that cover as a virgin variant instead of the usual b&w sketch variant. It does not look like they are contuing with the 1:10 or 1:50 for the next couple of issues, unfortunately.
  9. And don’t forget Gun Honey #1 out this week as well.
  10. No clue, but I am going to see how my 9.8s do now. I sold an AF 15 Facsimile 9.8 for $200 CDN a couple of weeks ago at the Calgary Expo, which appears to have been too low now........
  11. Prices on slabbed Marvel Facsimile books like AF 15, X-Men 1, FF 1, IH 1, IH 181, etc. are jumping across the board right now. I was beginning to worry that I may have wasted my time straight subbing a handful of each last year, especially the 9.6s
  12. The trailer was cool. Here's hoping they do the series justice.
  13. Most of the copies should grade 9.8 based on the cover stock and the fact that you could return damaged copies for a replacement. If you submit a copy and receive a grade lower than 9.8, that likely means the book should have been returned for a replacement in the first place.
  14. Moon Knight #1 is seeing some price gains now with the 1st Dr. Badr and 1st Hunters Moon cameo in addition to MK #3.
  15. Thanks. My file LCS owner set aside that one for me out of the three they got in which I appreciated. Now I just need to offload 250 copies of the regular covers. At least this is a better chase than when I did the ASM #800 1:1000 - I made a nice profit dumping the variants and some regular covers right away, but still have 800+ copies of the regular cover in cases in the basement.
  16. The key with the 3 packs is to look for the white spines. Those are usually 1:50 ASM 55 2nd to 1:100/1:200/1:500 and the odd 1:1000 (I landed an Immortal Hulk 1:1000 in one pack). Happy hunting.
  17. Moon Knight #3 is starting off nicely today. I wonder if it will hold. The 1:25 is nice.
  18. The McFarlane Gunslinger Spawn cover is the best of the bunch, and it will make an awesome 1:250.
  19. After seeing the number of 9.6 and lower grades on the census, and hearing from a LCS owner friend that there were more damaged copies than expected, I am happy that my #1000 is coming back as a 9.8.
