  1. It will be interesting to see if it can top that. Aquaman, the 3rd tier DC hero that saved their movie universe. FWIW, I liked Aquaman much more than Civil War. There are too many editing, CGI, story, and poor acting issues (mail it in = big payday anyways) in Civil War. It is a distant third best Avengers film for me: Infinity War > Avengers >>>>>>>>> Civil War >>>>>>>> Age of Ultron.
  2. You don't consider, Deadman, Zatanna, the Creeper or Hawk & Dove as major heroes?
  3. We went to a holiday Monday afternoon showing as a family since my wife and daughter had not seen the movie yet. I was surprised at how full the theatre was this late in the run. We thought it would be mostly empty and had to The girls loved it, and before the film we hit a car dealership nearby to check out a new vehicle where the younger female sales rep helping us said she loved the film as well. I think DC has done a better job with portraying strong female characters in their more recent films than Marvel has to date which appeals to female viewers(Captain Marvel should change things for Marvel). I guess you can also say they do a better job with naughty girls as well - my daughter and her friends saw SS 3 - 5 apiece due to Harley.
  4. That is how making a movie works. Just like real estate development, you use other people's money as much as possible.

  7. Like I said earlier in the thread, it is legit. Whether it was a misprint or not does not matter, it is a CDN price edition with the MJI. Case closed.
  8. How do you do that? I can't recall ever blocking anyone. You would have been on the consideration list.
  9. That was the gist of it. As cool as I think the Sears Turok #1 cover is, there is no way to move that many copies. The longs of Unity issues and common books like Rai #9 would have had to be tossed in the garbage. I did pay the premium of 3 for $1 on the couple of longs of remaining pre-unity and retailer incentive books, though.........
  10. +1 This is what I was looking at. There was a long box of sealed Valiant Reader sets, Bloodshot 0, each Unity book, and a bunch of other drekky Valiant titles and issues as well. I did have to pay more for all of the retailer incentives (VVSS, Gold/Red/Blue etc.) and pre-unity books - they gouged me at 3 for $1...... The mistake I made was not snagging the longs with ASM 361-363 though. On the flip side, around that time a long standing LCS need cash and sold off the contents of one of their storage facilities to another LCS for $10K. While there was a lot of drek, there was a long box and a half of NM #98s, Hulk vol 2 #8s, tons of ASM #298-328, etc. in the mix. The two stores that survived from the 80s in town had basically been speculating on extra cases of hot artist books in the late 80s - early 90s peak. As one of the owners told me, at 50 cents per book it was a no-brainer since they were selling through the books they held back and stickered up at $2-$4 apiece within a month.
  11. Immortal Hulk #1 1st prints are hitting $20 apiece now? I picked up a few because the cover looked cool. Looks like it is time to dump them.
  12. Justice League of America #1 CGC 3.5 $850 Here are a couple of front and back cover pictures. I will post better scans later.
