Looks like a 9.4 will be crossing the $5K price threshold tonight: http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dgiant%2Bsize%2Bx-men%26GO%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1309514&id=1309514&itemType=0- 283 replies

And they still will be after I apply the Greggy gouge multiplier to them as well.......I can likely raise my prices by 50% and still be cheaper than the JSC store and anyone else at the show.
-
Awesome. Time to price up all of the JSC variants I have left.

It looks like most DC SA and BA keys have slowed relative to their Marvel counterparts. I wonder if now is a good time to buy more?
-
So that explains the interest in the Avengers 6 CGC 8.0 I have up in the current Clink auction. I was wondering why there are so many bids for an otherwise uneventful book.

So Which SA Mega Key Will Surge This Year?
kimik replied to Jaydogrules's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
The success of Namor would depend on who they cast to play the character. Mamoa was a great fit as Aquaman. Not sure who they could cast that would be the same for Namor. -
FANTASTIC FOUR #48 CLUB : THE INTERGALACTIC BEACH CLUB II

Yup. It is definitely an interesting time to own keys/early SA Marvels. The question now is how long will prices continue to run? -

Almost every Marvel BA and SA key has seen a nice bump/is starting to see one now. -

FF and X-Men keys jumped when the Disney/Fox deal was first announced and have kept running ever since then. That being said, I was speculating on FF #48 from 5 to 3 years ago, but dumped the copies I had accumulated too early (pre-acquisition ) since prices were not running up as fast as I had hoped they would. -

Wow. CGC 9.2 copies are hitting $6500 now. I wonder what a solid CGC 9.4 would go for now? The latest GPA sale was $9,000 for the old label 9.4 that sold in the February Heritage Signature Auction, but that booked looked more like a 9.2 with the spine and top edge issues. -
So......SyFy on a low budget can get Doomsday to look right but Snyder and a huge WB budget could not in BvS?

Should be fixed now.

This thread needs a bit of a bump. Here are some of the results from the SA collection a few pages back that will be available for sale at the Calgary Expo next month:

This was the best artwork that Adams did for Marvel IMHO.

He just has to follow the smell of big money since you and Joe will be making it rain at our booth..........

The current state of the comic book market
kimik replied to fastballspecial's topic in Comics General
Yet another thread about the state of the hobby. The trend is this - younger collectors buy keys/1st apps they want and consume trades/collected editions instead of floppies. Expect this to continue to become the norm as time goes by. The key/1st app/hot cover issues will continue to rise over time due to demand, while common issues become worth less and less. It is the same trend as the past 20 years. -

Be early or Harley will have already picked through them before you get to the show. He just starts peeling the lids off of boxes while you are unloading.

I want $USD, not loonies. This year I will bring the goods. I am trying to get rid of all of my raw books in the basement. There will be a firesale on some stuff.
