I am not surprised it is struggling at the box office. Squeezing the release date in between Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame was a huge mistake. Everyone is focused there right now. WB should have released this one before Captain Marvel, or in August when there will be less competition and the whole Avengers Endgame hype has died down. They likely cost themselves a hundred million or two by trying to go head to head with the Endgame bookends (i.e. Captain Marvel lead in to role in Endgame). That being said, Shazam is a 3rd tier DC property so a $400M final worldwide is not a travesty when your lead actor/actress is not really a well known entity either.

In the end, the best way to speculate on X-Men is to just keep buying as many copies of X-Men 1 and GS X-Men 1 as you can afford to. While villain and lesser characters will see run ups, the big books are the ones that will show the biggest $$$ gains over time. Look at Spider-Man as an example - sure, books like ASM 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 13, 14, 15, etc. will have spikes, but a collector would have come out way further ahead by just saving up and buying multiple copies of AF 15 and ASM 1 instead.

Looks like prices are moving on up nicely across most grades again, with 2.0s set to cross the $4k barrier next.

I am hoping that the Flames, Jets and Leafs will be done by then......

It sucks to have JSC back out on you a couple of weeks in advance, Kevin. I can imagine how much work/time you had to put in to get him. That being said, as people above have noted, the other names will not draw the attention from fans/collectors here as they are 1) not as well known and/or 2) have been here recently (e.g. Jusko). At the first three one-day shows of the year in March, the only artist collectors were excited to see were JSC. Nobody else was mentioned, other than a couple of collectors wishing it was Andy instead of Adam coming to the show.

I think they are going to keep things as vague as possible for now just in case they sneak them in. They could have two edited versions - one with a Galactus and SS cameo and one without. I would love to see them tease Galactus as the big baddie for the next phase since they will have more cosmic characters that could be dealing with him/his Heralds as a build up to the next big event. Heck, the cosmic radiation that creates the FF could even be the result of something that happens with Galactus in another galaxy (battle with Celestials that killed the one who's head is Knowhere releasing cosmic energy that travels across universe and eventually hits FF in space?). You could even start the Eternals origin story as the Celestials response to Galactus' Heralds, while playing on the whole Galactus vs. Celestials storyline from the X universe.

Where are the Galactus and Silver Surfer costumes?

That would be a fun ending since no one except these guys would be happy with it. If the production crew wants to leave a mark on TV forever, that is the way to end it..........

Only if it is resubbed and comes back as a CGC 9.0. Otherwise, do the deal for the FF #48. The problem with CBCS grading is 1) it tends to be looser than CGC and more importantly 2) the market knows this and CBCS books sell at a discount to CGC graded books.
