  1. So.....if the books were never circulated wouldn't the OO just be whichever mobster sold the warehouse full of them to Chuck?
  2. Any chance you can get Ron Perlman as well so both Hellboys are there?
  3. I just got these back from CGC and can play a couple of days of catch up now:
  4. Well, I had them in my $1/$2 boxes with no takers. I have seen them in other boxes at shows as well the past couple of years. A collection I snagged a couple of years back had 10-12 copies of it as the owner said he was speculating on it. Too bad he did not pick something better like ASM 300 or NM 98 instead.
  5. Awesome news that Hulk #377 is hot again. I landed a stack a couple of years back in a collection and they have sat in my $1/$2 boxes with no takers.
  6. It depends on who the director is and the story. Spider-Man 1 and 2 were great comic book movies since they had a good director, good stories, and an older Parker/Spider-man. The current pre-pubescent one is hit or miss (I am in the miss camp - still have not seen Homecoming).
  7. Maybe it is just finally moving to close the gap with HOS #92 CGC 9.8? HOUSE OF SECRETS #92 CGC 9.8 1971, 1ST SWAMP THING APPEARANCE! SOLD FOR $44,999 (3/2018) RECORD SALE PRICE! http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAdmin%2FCL%2Fauctions.asp&id=1238490&next=%2FComicTrack%2FAdmin%2FCL%2Fauctions.asp
  8. So, he just walked down the hall to the DC Cinematic division and talked about New Gods and that sent speculators into a fury?
  9. While it will be nice to see this one possibly move forward, the movie everyone really wants to see back on the table is Black Cat/Silver Sable.
  10. There is a reason I left them off.......... I am still accumulating copies.
  11. I picked up a Hulk #181 CGC 7.0 later on that I sold in the fall for a profit. I am looking at a 9.4 this year now. On the flip side, I did time buying CGC 9.4 copies of ASM #129 CGC 9.4, GSX #1 CGC 9.4, TOD #10 and WWBN #32, well last year. It looks like the other BA Marvel keys are poised to pop this year on the coattails of Hulk #181.
  12. Last January I had a decision to make - Hulk #181 CGC 9.4 or Batman #181 CGC 9.0 + Detective #180 CGC 6.5 from Bob Storms. I went for the Bat/Tec combo since Hulk #181 had been relatively flat for a couple of years and I figured I had time to get a CGC 9.4 copy for the collection.
  13. Last July/August I snagged a Hulk #180 CGC 9.4 W for $1500 as a spec play to upgrade on the mid grade raw copy I already had in hand. I was debating whether I should go for another Hulk #181 at the time instead. I am not sure I made the right choice, but the 9.4 #180 looks way better than the copies of #181 I was considering.
  14. Looks like the mid grade prices are starting to jump now as collectors get priced out of the high end. This run up has also done well for Hulk #180 - CGC 9.4 copies in the $850 - $1000 range from last January will now cost $2K+ (last sale was $2450 but that looks like an outlier for now).
  15. I am not so sure it is overvalued. This year looks like it is shaping up to be a year where the rest of the BA keys spike after the run up in Hulk 181 prices last year. ASM 129 and GSX 1 have already started to move up nicely over the past three or so months, and other key BA books like HOS 92 should follow suit.
  16. I would not be surprised if the largest investors of the film were from China (individuals or corporate) and that they made releasing the film in China first a stipulation for their funding.
  17. 1st appearance of Blade in TOD #10 is still relatively cheap compared to most other movie-related Marvel BA keys. There is still time to pick up a few copies........
  18. MOKF was supposedly being fast-tracked so I would go with that one. ROM is still just vapor. Or.......ROM movie development is still in Limbo?
  19. Exactly. That being said, I expect that a lot of investors get a % up front back from cash product placement deals on big films as well as government grants. As I pointed out earlier, one government provided a grant up front that covered 10% of the production costs (which made someone's calculations inaccurate/flawed from the start......) for filming in that jurisdiction. Since the film was shot in other countries as well, there were likely further government grants to shoot there. If I were financing these films I would ask for all of that money to be paid back first. I can't say for certain since the only content production I have invested in was small stuff (a couple of million per project split 2/3 government grants - federal and provincial - and 1/3 investors and production company), but it appears that the film industry is likely similar to pharma in sense. From a macro view, that means the studios = big pharma and own IP/offer the product, finish development and market it, but do not pay the bulk of development cost (Phase 3 onwards); film investors/production companies = small pharma/biotechs that take the most risk and pay the most to generate the product for royalties; and the theatres = drug stores that distribute it to the masses. We all know who ends up with the most in the pharma scenario........
  20. Nets a billion = profit of $1B. Grosses a billion = box office of $1B. It has not turned a profit yet according to some.........
  21. Black Panther or Avengers Infinity War? According to some, Aquaman is still losing money which is a far cry from "nets a Billion"..........
  22. Sweet. I totally forgot about this at the open, but just went and was able to get two unsigned ultra sets half an hour later. I hope they come through.
  23. Or even better, how about a duo with the current WW as well?
  24. I am looking at adding a WP well centred 9.4 this year...........if I can sell you CDSs on myself for doing that I would gladly do it to help pay for the cost of the book.
