  1. Price reduction on the slabs before they are off to eBay. I am open to offers.
  2. I think Artboy99 has a collage from a couple of years ago with some of the girls that bought back issues from us that pokes fun at thehumantorch for saying "Girls don't buy comics" at one point. We really saw the female collector base pick up with the New 52 relaunch. It has kept going strong since then.
  3. See my post just a bit above this one. Since 2010 I have seen the following trends here in Alberta: 1) large number of collectors 30 and under enter the hobby 2) more than 50% are female 3) they tend to focus on keys instead of runs.
  4. Based on what I have seen doing shows in Alberta from 1999 until today, there are more young collectors now than there were in the late 90s through mid 00s. The past few years I have seen a huge uptick in the number of young women (18-25 yo) that collect comics. The difference between now and then is that the young collectors are focusing predominantly on keys. It is the 40+ crowd that is more likely to collect runs.
  5. They should make Euron end up as the Azor Ahai and ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. He would make Robert Baratheon's drinking, debauchery and pillaging look like amateur hour. As far as a sword, that would be child's play. Try to build 1000 ships in two episodes.
  6. Catwoman #70 CGC 9.2 $40 Copy #2 Grader's Notes: color run/manufacturing error right center of front cover
  7. Wow, I did not realize how much time had lapsed over the summer. Here are some new slabs to get the ball rolling again: Convergence #0 CGC 9.8 $120 SOLD
  8. A Joker origin story would be fine, but I would love to see them put together a Kingdom Come trilogy with the first film delving more into the fall of the old guard, the second one showing some of the issues with the younger/newer heroes, and then the third one finishing the story off. That is easy to do today and could be an amazing trilogy if done well. Not to be demanding, but I think it would be cool to see WB/DC launch an Injustice Gods Among Us TV series under this banner as well. That would be a fun ride. 10-12 episodes per season.
  9. While some of the MI movies are okay, Cruise's best performance in the last 10-20 years is easy - Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder!
  10. Nice. If they can do a Vertigo/Elseworlds spin-off banner then they may be able to give us the movie trilogy that we all want - Kingdom Come!
  11. It is hit and miss and depends on the size of the bindery tear. It seems like they are more consistently strict with them on 100 Pagers.
  12. Here he is. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bbqRZ6LhSHY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. Financially, homecoming is a success. From a Spidey franchise perspective, I am being serious when I say that it is not a great sign when this movie barely beats the horrendous ASM 1 worldwide. That movie was bad (and ASM 2 was brutal). The first two Spider-Man movies were the cream of the crop in the franchise, with Spider-Man 3 riding their good will to $1B+ box office. With all of the effort put in to guarantee Homecoming's success - Civil War lead in, huge marketing campaign - it really did not do that well. It will have a hard time catching up to GotG 2's worldwide numbers, and that movie was just average (granted, with GotG 1 being such a great movie it had a tough act to follow).
  14. So......adjusted that would put it barely ahead of the horrendous ASM 1? That is a flop when you consider this had RDJ/Iron Man and the Avengers 3, err Civil War, tie-in to set it up. From a pure financial perspective, it made money so it is fine. Personally, I think Spidey is just facing the same issue that Superman does for DC. Both heroes were past icons that do not fit as well with modern pop culture. It happens. Both have been surpassed by Iron Man/Wolverine and Batman respectively (with WW maybe as well).
  15. But.................that is not the best copy of the character's first appearance. It may be the highest CGC graded copy, but not the best overall..........
