  1. I am slowly organizing some modern boxes and have noticed that I have accumulated more Adam Hughes Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Tomb Raider, Zatanna and other issues than I thought I had. Time to trim things down a bit. I will be posting a bunch of raw books in this thread, with a few slabs as well. As usual, trumps PMs I have not responded to. Shipping Policy: Shipping for slabbed comics starts at $20 in a small box with tracking and insurance in Canada and the continental USA. Shipping for raw books starts at $6 for a bubble padded mailer or $10 for a small box/cardboard mailer. Overseas shipping will be charged at the postal rate. Note: Assume that all slabbed books have been pressed. Some I have done myself, others that I bought slabbed are likely pressed as well. Return Policy: Within 14 days of receipt for raw books. No return on slabbed books.
  2. Wow. Walking Dead sells way more than Amazing Spider-Man does. Looking at the sales charts, Marvel only makes hay with #1s and the plethora of store variants. ASM is their top selling regular issue. That is horrible. As a whole, the comic industry is hurting. Take a look at the numbers - only one ongoing title is selling in the 90,000 - 100,000 per issue range consistnently (Batman) and the second highest seller on a consistent basis is WD in the 70,000ish range. On the flip side, I am surprised that Edge of Venmoverse #1 did not top 100,000 copies considering the plethora of store variants available. Is it a sign of Marvel overusing Venom already? Or, will that mean the minis will sell well if the movie is actually released?
  3. All it will take is one determined buyer and a good shill account to get it there......
  4. Euron was awesome last night. I wonder if he will take a run at Jamie Lannister sooner than later?
  5. I really hope that they wait until the end for GL to appear. Have Supes pop up for the final battle to defeat Strppenwolf but leave the GLs to figure more prominently in the next one when Darkseid appears.
  6. I was wondering if there would be a viral fangirl and fanboy movement to push this one over the $400M domestic mark. If I were in marketing at WB I would get something going online to initiate it.
  7. Yeah, this looks bad. We may be hitting the oversaturation point with comic based TV shows faster than on the big screen if more of them turn out like this. AOS Season 1 looks better than what we have seen from the Inhumans so far.
  8. Too many characters popping up too fast for a B tier property? It seems like the theme of the new DCEU and MCEU films.
  9. Interestings. Sort of an Injustice: Gods Among Us type of story?
  10. It is hard to geek out when you can't really see anything.
  11. The trailer looks much better than the first one. I like the tie in with the Amazons. I wonder if that was added after they saw how well WW did at the box office?
  12. I can't believe that POS, err PotC 5, did that well overseas. I guess low quality films don't matter as long as the aging lead actor/actress is popular?
  13. Yeah, this film will be huge. I wonder when they will officially release the footage or a trailer? I would assume the marketing machine will start in full force this fall.
  14. So, are they going for a GotG remake in this one? Looks okay, but the last trailer was better. The Surtur battle scene should be great.
  15. Catching up on the trailers - liked JL and Infinity War, not a fan of this one. Maybe the next one will be better.
  16. The problem with that approach and Shazam/Captain Marvel is that the general public does teally know the character at all. If you thought that Ant-Man and Dr. Strange were relative unknowns, Shazam is even more of a mystery. If they do not get a strong cast in place I can see this movie tanking at the box office. One way they could raise the profile is to introduce Billy Batson as a kid in the JL movie. Maybe he gets hurt as a bystander at a battle and Superman saves him from being killed? At least that would introduce him to the movie audience. Have Clark visit him and reveal his secret like in the panel above to start off the Shazam movie. Then show him getting his powers and learning how to use them with some mentoring from Supes. Then end the movie with Shazam and Superman getting knocked out of sky and have Black Adam hovering above them. And ten years from now when more characters have been introduced, give us a great live action Kingdom Come trilogy please!
  17. Okay, since I have a stack of Tales of the Teen Titans #44s sitting in the long boxes, I want Nightwing to assume the mantle of Batman. From a fan perspective, I like the Batfleck version and would be interested in him in a solo movie. My guess is that if they do a transition they have him die a heroic death saving everyone from Darkseid in JL 2.
  18. This will be a tough one to pull off as a solo film IMHO. I would rather see them re-intro the character in an X-Men movie and then spin the film out of that. Or, add him as a character in the next Deadpool film and then do an R-rated Gambit.
  19. The mother boxes look cool. I wonder how many they will identify as time goes on in the DCEU? I just hope that they do a good job with the Darkseid effects when he finally shows up. He has to be better than what they did with Doomsday.
  20. My daughter has already started planning with her friends re: autographs. I can see if she can get some extra signed pictures if anyone likes.
  21. I am glad that you liked it, but my reference to word of mouth is that non-comic fanboy people I know, as well as the comments here on the boards, are mixed re: whether it is a good film or not. As far as Holland, we will agree to disagree. I feel the same way about him as I do about Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. I don't care for either as leading actors. They are better suited for supporting roles IMHO.
  22. In Canada we don't settle for A or AA, it is only AAA. A in USA = C up here. The mixed word of mouth I am referring to is the mixed reviews here on the boards and from people locally I know that have seen the film. My friends that are non-comic fanboys and colleagues at work that have seen it are mixed on it. The common theme is that they all liked WW and GotG 2 much more than this film, but with some saying Homecoming is good and others saying it is meh.
  23. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Mr. Promotion himself, Gene Simmons, will be at the Expo as well. Time to break out the Kiss Psycho Circus from the $0.10 bins and mark them up for the show.
