  1. Don't remind me. I was holding off on all of the 5.0s in that price range last year waiting for a FN and then happened to miss the couple of nicer copies that were auctioned.
  2. I have a SC 22 at cgc now that might be in the 5.5 range...will be watching this one closely! But remember, if it is only CR/OW page quality then it is worth half of the price of an OW copy when you list the price for us.
  3. There are a few copies in the 5.0 - 7.0 range floating around right now, but they are not publicly for sale yet.
  4. Thanks. I asked about it and for larger high res scans. The only problem for me might be the fact that he does not ship internationally (I am in Canada).
  5. Very nice price on the 9.6 copy of #8 in the Clink auction. Final hammer price was $11,694. Did anyone here land it? BTW, looking at that result and the $600 for the 8.0 last go round, what would a 9.0 copy of GL #8 be worth now?
  6. It looks to be on the CGC case...not the book. kimik, if you're still looking for one, this may be it. It will depend on the price. I have a 5.0 already, plus a slabbed 4.0 and possibly another copy on the way. Looking at the stain a little closer it looks more like a circle with some crossed lines through it written lightly in pen/pencil.
  7. Very nice! It will be insteresting to see where this copy ends up. BTW, is that a price sticker stain in the top right below the CCA box? If yes, how did it get 5.5?
  8. All you need is one buyer willing to pay a higher price, I guess.
  9. Yeah, but I would give it a 1.5/1.8 with that fugly tape and staining.
  10. It does not look like it actually sold on eBay: Bath Tub Safe Showcase #22 from eBay
  11. Darn it kimik!! I thought you were referencing a KILLER copy !! Elitist high grade collector! Seriously, though, I am curious to see how high this one goes as it will tell us how robust the market is. If it tops $200, I am going to laugh hard.
  12. So, is it safe to say that right now most dealers (part-time and major) are building up their inventory for the run up next year? It just seems to me that with this book being so hot right now there is a serious lack of sales on auctions/major websites right now.
  13. Well...........it will be very interesting to see how much this copy of SC #22 goes for in the upcoming ComicConnect auction: ComicConnect Showcase #22
  14. Welcome to this club, John. It is much more exclusive than that crummy AF #15 club you are a member of.
  15. aman16 - Any interesting stories behind how/where/when you acquired these books? You have a lot of quality books from the sound of things and I was wondering if you have any stories behind where you found your books like Bangzoom does. In any case, thank you again for sharing!
  16. And what grade and PQ does it have on the label.
  17. What terrible copies of #22. You should sell them here for cheap, I mean reasonable prices, quickly before the hype dies! Just kidding, that is an awesome photo, aman619. Thank you for sharing these gems with us. (thumbs u
  18. Because you want to share the wealth with your virtuous fellow boardies who were unfortunate to not have had your brilliant foresight and are now scavenging high and low looking for copies to hold as a cherished keepsake in their collections at a reasonable rate.
  19. Sweet! Are you looking to sell them now, or waiting until closer to the movie?
  20. Or, he is suggesting that some of our unabashed support sounds like the OA booster, Krazy Kat, talking.
  21. Nah - it will be a temporary delay if any. As I stated in the Comics General thread, this is a long term trend we will see more often as the $US declines in value a bit. The flip side is that it will mean more movies will be shot in the USA which will keep jobs and $$$ there for the industry. WRT the impact on the book, I don't think it will do much unless it is outright cancelled. Even then, SC #22 has been undervalued for so long that it will not drop much if at all. The true movie hype phase has not kicked in yet - this is just the rush to reserve a copy now. Sounds good but you know Hollywood. Once things hit a kink, people tend to move on to the next project and revival takes a long time. I hope not. I'm looking forward to the movie. I think my hollywood knowledge is pretty good. I get it all from Entourage... Good show. Used to be great, but still a solid half hour of entertainment. I can't see them shelving this flick now. Relocating the shoot yes, but with all of the pre-movie buzz that is out there it will go forward. Besides Warner/DC needs to start pumping out the films to cash in before the demand for superhero films wanes. If they play their cards right they could follow the formula Marvel is with solo movies leading up to the Avengers flick and cash in on GL, Flash, Batman, Supes, and Wonder Woman solos prior to a JLA movie.

  23. This is why I think the people hoarding 4.0 - 5.0 (or even 3.0, for some, I guess) copies of most bigger SA keys will do well in the next 5 - 10 years. These books will still be affordable for most collectors, while you will need a decent amount of disposable $$$ to play in the five figure market.
  24. I was just kidding. I hope to be able to snag an Action #1 and Tec #27 eventually too. (thumbs u Right now my gulp limit is around $5K for an individual book. But, just like the old $2K threshold, once you pop it there is no turning back.
