  1. @CGC Mike honestly curious here. Is there a reason for blocking the search engines from indexing the boards? There could be a perfectly valid reason for this from a business perspective but I don't understand why that would be desired. Maybe an oversight?
  2. Please post the results once you get them back (hopefully before 2023...)
  3. I agree, most of the responses were helpful in that thread.
  4. Lol, I start some threads that go over like a lead balloon but that doesn't stop me from thinking I'm funnier than I really am.
  5. Oh yeah, the link is good. My point was more to why all the threads on the boards don't show up on Google. I would love to understand CGC's logic for this as it makes zero sense from a SEO perspective.
  6. I find this fascinating as to why CGC would block Google results to the boards. It really makes no sense as to why they want this to happen . Are they concerned about outbound links to eBay or other venues that are considered competition? One would think they would want to drive as much traffic to the boards as possible to promote the brand and products. Bing does not return too many more results, just different links. Searching @ADAMANTIUMfavorite topic "boards.cgccomics.com fan expo dallas" returns a few results but the first has no description. Clicking on learn why brings you to this page where you can see that the boards are intentionally blocked from being indexed in the robots.txt file. https://www.cgccomics.com/robots.txt has at least /boards/* blocked but I wonder if we will start to see more results after google crawls the site after the change to a subdomain. 7. this thread makes my head hurt. I do think the repeated Canada post/paypal regurgitation should stop until you all straighten this out. It's super annoying.
  8. I would encourage the orignal poster to spend some time in the Spare a grade section as well as the various sales threads so they can get a sense of how others here grade, especially some of the more reputable sellers. I still find myself looking at my own books through rose colored glasses and struggle to not over grade them.
  9. I was considering a move to CLZ next year (currently using ComicPriceGuide) but this gives me pause. Is this their only source of data for values? I'm assuming no, but it certainly is a big loss.
  10. Given the apparent grade of the book, this is the right answer.
  11. I was going to find a Thor thread but I'll throw this in this topic since it seems relevant. I don't chase variants or 1 in whatevers etc... but this was pretty cool. It's a Thor #18 shop variant for my LCS (Hall of Comics) drawn by Daniel Warren Johnson. It seems this is only the 7th homage to JIM #83 if the details in the article below are accurate. https://screenrant.com/thor-first-comic-journey-mystery-throg-variant-cover/?fbclid=IwAR0P3iWgt9fDfMcpcDxQ8y8xzdB8ya-zgj38Tf4Umrzo6HCiXQVjadf8cSU
  12. Back when I first joined, I met a bunch at some forum convention dinners as well as some local cons. It would be great if that became a thing again.
  13. Still waiting for prices to settle a bit on lower/mid-grade 2,3, and 9 . May have to bite the bullet if I want to complete my run. Sharing my 5 as I look through my collection...
