Going to have to miss today's Markentoth Comic-Con as there is a local comic show (which I am certain won't have anywhere near the same amount of PCH killer Gold). GLWTS!

Not often you mean to post and post a picture of Ricardo Montalban instead...at least for me.

Perhaps I'm a little too literal, but I was disappointed to open this thread and not find a comic cover depicting a woman eating a lion...
GLWTS!

I love how we cannot stop but continue to gravitate to this done thread.
It's because this thread isn't 123 pages of comics, it's 123 pages of unbridled enthusiasm for comics.

Geez, I didn't even think about that box. Yeah, I can add a couple of undercopies for sure.
You're right, no need to clutter up this thread with those crummy old EC undercopies. Just send me a PM and I will help you get rid of them. I might even pay you for them!

...Where were you...when...October dropped the bomb...Your grand kids will ask.
No kidding. The first Octoberfest was only 43 pages and last year's hit 50. Octoberfest III was bigger than the first two combined! Like being at Woodstock...

While there are many sales threads I look forward to on these boards I don't think any rival Octoberfest in terms of scope, quality, and volume (and fun). And while an outside observer might be aghast at seeing multiple "Take it!" replies posted before a scan of the comic has often even fully loaded I think it is less testament to the feeding frenzy of these threads than it is to October's reputation for accurate grading and fair pricing. Well done, Andy. Can't wait to have see how nice that Vault of Horror #35 looks in hand!

Nowadays we call that HBO. Where's Wertham when we need him?

Vancouver Comic & Toy Show Sunday Feb. 24, 2019 * P.N.E. Forum* BC, Canada

Had a good time at the show today in its new location at the PNE Forum. Beautiful warm sunny Vancouver day, perfect for being inside a big building looking at comics.
Parking was $13 but being a Sunday I found a spot easily a block away on Hastings. Lineup moved quickly. $12 admission. Rows were nice and wide, much easier to move around than the Croatian Cultural Center, but the lighting wasn't nearly as good.
Not a ton of slabs or high-grade raws at these local shows and there were also a lot of tables with toys, video games, DVDs, etc (which don't interest me other than to look at).
Had a good conversation with the proprietor of VanIsle Comic Pressing (fixyourcomics.com) while he showed off a GSXM #1 he had pressed from a 8.5 to a 9.4. Also saw a nice Shock Suspenstories #6 CGC 6.0 that, unfortunately, was not for sale. The vendor has just received it back from a mysterious individual named "Greg" who was apparently quite a player in the comic-collecting world and had connections with a top-notch presser in Florida. Sounded familiar...
Also picked up a nice VF Fantastic Four #6 Annual (signed by Stan Lee and authenticated by @aardvark88 ) and a low-grade Planet #57.
Had fun!
