I LOVE these books. Already have a bunch, but am missing many. Sorry.
Bronze Age DC horror is an intoxicating drug. You aren't the first to fall victim...

Nice grabs so far Sean, you have Gold Medal speed on that button!
But shouldn't you be terrorizing the Golden Age rooms instead of us poor Bronze Agers?

Get your cheque yet, chumley?
Showed up last week. Now I can finally stop eating those no name instant noodles from Superstore and start going out for real ramen again.

If you get a text from Kav saying he wants to give @Black_Adam his pick, I didn't send it...

I didn't write that clearly. I didn't see it going for that amount.
Me either. I don't think collectors are as particular about page quality for comics nearly 70 years old but for me the cream to off-white pages bumped this copy down a notch. However, as you mentioned earlier, ECs as a whole seem to be hot, hot, hot all of a sudden, particularly the issues with the more infamous covers, so the final price didn't come as a huge surprise.

I bid that book up too... didn't see it at the price it went for. Maybe next month.
Hammered at $358.

In the current Comiclink auction I didn't even make it past the plate - 0 for 14 - struck out on a high and hard Shock Suspenstories #13...

I'll take it!
Who isn't a sucker for PCH? I'm cracking that baby out and reading it!
The VoH 39 would have been my pick if I wasn't such a sucker for mystery boxes. If I'd ever been on Let's Make a Deal I'm sure Monty Hall would have sent me home with a llama...

Did they actually say their Mystery Box would top the previous one?
BTW, the shipping for my Secret Santa/Raffle gifts came out to around $150 for shipping alone so that's why International shipping (and even domestic Priority shipping) is pretty expensive given enough weight.
(And I actually don't remember sending anyone a Mystery Box... My brain cells are long gone. I've been here too long. )
I think it was more along the lines of "not letting you make them look bad." Which sounds near impossible.
But I do remember it was an adventure getting your mystery box across the border last year (I had it sent to my US mailbox) and trying to explain to the customs agents why I had no idea what was in it or what its value was. They loved that one.

To keep things moving I will make my pick now as I am fairly confident @RockMyAmadeus won't be taking this one.
Let me preface my selection by stating that I have previously been the recipient of a @sckao mystery box - and it was spectacular. Now @BlowUpTheMoon is promising his box will top that one, and @RockMyAmadeus says his will exceed both!
I've always been a sucker for a mystery box so, assuming @RockMyAmadeus doesn't decide to keep this one, I proudly select prize #43 - one authentic RMA mystery box!

Very much so... see the Blowout forums. I recently sold a Mike Trout card from 2013 for close to 5 figures.
Congrats!

Any idea as to when the picking will commence? Weekday, weekend?
I think it's 2 am Spain time so unless @marmat keeps the Batman's hours I'm guessing the show won't start until tomorrow?

1 hour ago, speedcake said:yeah, what a generous grade for this one. I'd like to see what the book's official grade is. The interior cover if intact must be in decent shape. But that outer cover with a quarter size missing piece was given a gift.
I always wonder with double covers if, knowing the interior cover (assuming it is higher grade) is the cover that matters, graders are a lot looser with the outer cover grade. Sure looks like it with some of the grades seen so far.
And a huge thanks to @BlowUpTheMoon and @sckao for yet another well-run and highly-entertaining March Madness! I am sure I speak for all participants (and spectators) when I say the massive amount of effort and thought the two of you put into every tournament is very, very appreciated! Congrats to you both!
