  1. I don't know how many characters it should be, but one line should be enough. I mean if a seller has good reputation and are known for having good books then people will probably click onto that seller's thread regardless of how many characters in the title.
  2. One of the earliest comic book I remember having is Batman 291. I don't remember how I got it, but I remember how disturbed I was when it was revealed that Batman got killed by one of his villains. I remember not liking Catwoman because she let Batman drown. It took me quite a few years afterwards to track down the follow up books to see what happened. Not my copy, but this is the cover.
  3. I wasn't a fan at all of the new joker in the brief clip in the movie, especially that stupid laugh, but I actually like this scene.
  4. Of course. Your situation sounds pretty bad considering the amount of books and the sentimental value of the books. If I were in the same situation I too would want the books back.
  5. As a company there is only so much you can do. Not a lot that cgc can do since the packages were sent out and got lost by the carrier. Sure they can call UPS everyday for the status, but why would they when they're already considering paying out the insurance claim. I'm sure if a customers package was properly insured and was worth a lot more then they would probably be more proactive. For a $100 claim it may not be even with it to spend the payroll chasing something that is out of their control.
  6. Wow, 21 books insured for only $100. That's really going to suck if it doesn't show up.
  7. I wouldn't think they would call or contact anyone if they found a missing box. They have a freaking missing trailer full of boxes, plus boxcars of missing freight. It'd probably take months to call everyone whose package went missing off that trailer and the boxcars. Your box is just as unimportant to them as every other missing box. Constant calling isn't going to get someone out of their seats to go searching for your box. It's just not that important to them.
  8. Well it looks like it may still get to you since there is recent tracking on the book. Since you filed the claim and they paid it out, does that mean they get to retain the book? Honestly, your situation sucks. Hopefully karma doesn't bite you on the butt and they wind up retaining the book because of the claims you opened.
  9. They're both pointing fingers at one another, but why does it show tracking on your shipment if it's still with CGC? Also, why would UPS send a claim to the sender (CGC) if they didn't have the book? It seems pretty clear that UPS wasn't being completely open about the case, but you're still refusing to accept the truth that it got lost with UPS.
  10. Do you still believe the story the shipping manager told you? It seems pretty clear from the tracking that UPS did in fact receive the package and they pay out the insurance claim on the shipment.
  11. I've heard this often from people. Most of the time it's people yelling about trying to get over on something and say how they work in customer service blah, blah, blah...I always think I'm my head, "if you work in customer service then you should understand the process." The customer is not always right.
  12. Both shipments came back with the same type of damage? Were all 80 books damaged? If not then I'd go get those books that aren't damaged and try to resell them yourself. Maybe it's time to try to send your books out yourself or through another LCS.
  13. Sorry, whenever I see or hear a Chad or Karen say, "Where is your manager", that's the image that pops up in my head.
  14. Jeez, I can imagine this is what that poor manager is going to have to deal with if they ever connect the OP to them.
  15. It doesn't make sense. The label was created on 3/3/22, and there was a scan by UPS on 3/8, but now they're saying that it was some type of phantom scan? I guess being as this is the 5th person you spoke to, they finally got the right person on the phone with you to stop you from calling them or opening another claim. Now onto CGC to speak to a manager with your proof that they still have it.
  16. You submitted your book for grading which they did. You then selected the cheapest shipping option with a maximum insurance claim of $100 to be payable to you in case of loss or damage. They're offering to send you a check for the $100 and if the books do reappear you just have to give them back what they paid you to get your book back. To me, It actually sound fair. I know if it happened to me I would be upset, but it would be my own fault for my not paying more to have a shipping option that offered more insurance.
  17. Okay, so they closed it out and told you they were going to send you a check for $100. It seems you're making matters worse for yourself. Neither are going to stop everything they're doing to search for your book since both seem to think it's now a loss. Yeah it sucks that you probably paid more for the services than what you're going to recover, but you have yourself to blame for choosing the cheapest route to have the book returned back to you.
  18. I'm not sure if it's CGC that taking advantage of this or it's your misunderstanding. You selected UPS return shipping and that's what you got. Who tried closing out your investigation with UPS? Maybe UPS did it because you had multiple claims out for the same shipment.
  19. It doesn't sound like they're passing the buck if they're offering you $100. If you requested it sent back to you via UPS then you got what you paid for. It's clearly stated on their website that the max insurance is $100 if shipped UPS.
  20. It looks like you've edited your original post. If you lowered prices then it's difficult to notice since no one will notice. Maybe adding a strikethrough on the original price with the reduced price listed next to it, or even a % off post may help generate some interest.
  21. Given your condition, maybe a potential buyer would feel like an if they sent you a low ball offer. I've seen plenty thread where the seller offered OBO and no one took them up on the offer until the seller lowered the price of the book to get them sold. Just trying to give you some suggestions since the donations have dried up too.
  22. Hard times means sometimes making sacrifices. It seems you're reluctant in to make some sacrifices, such as price reductions for your books. You may get some buyers who rather buy reasonably priced books than give hand outs.
  23. Looks interesting. I wonder if Marvel will have any issues with the name Marvelous Man being so close to Marvel Man (Miracle Man).
