Starting to thing that, but under whose watch did this happen?

Questionable business practices.
-
Well the "New" CGC seems to want to be like the old PGX.
-
For CGC to not acknowledge their customer's concerns and see how this will impact their integrity shows either their arrogance or that they don't care about maintaining integrity in their business. People get canceled for the stupidest reasons and some influencers are panicking at the negative feedback they're receiving for fear of getting canceled. Obviously, CGC feels they're above that and that they're invulnerable. That batch of books with the three magical 10.0 and nine 9.9 makes them no better than PGX.

Yet another Ebay seller shipping failure.

That's an awful lot of reading into the gender of a person from a comment. Also, men do paint their nails sometimes. -
There's this one.

Stolen stan lee signed comic and more
Semicentennial replied to RawVegan Justin's topic in Comics General
Can you post pictures of these books when they were in your possession with the serial # clearly visible? When were these books supposedly stolen? Just curious, why won't you post the detective who is working on the case their contact info here?- 40 replies

Lets see your comic book upgrades
Semicentennial replied to frozentundraguy's topic in Comics General
This was my first key. I bought it at a flea market in the early 80s. The book had half the cover chewed off and about 1/3 of the pages chewed off maybe the first 10 pages or so. I must have scoured through old magazines to get an image of what the actual cover looked like, not an easy task pre-internet days, and I did the best I could to recreate the cover with tracing paper and some colored pencils and marker. I picked up a second copy a couple years back. -
Does CGC "save" tears? Example to show on my ASM 11
Semicentennial replied to KCode98's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I don't think they'll fold it back due to the piece possibly falling off. I know I've had some pieces that I thought I could fold back, only to have it fall off completely. -
BLACK ADAM starring Dwayne Johnson (TBD)

That's what I thought as well, but it's missing "Fairplay" on the side of the jacket.- 1,455 replies

I think this is what CGC is probably thinking too.

CGC announces changes to label notations, see what remains?
Semicentennial replied to ADAMANTIUM's topic in Comics General
So if I don't have a membership, and not have access to their notes, then buying a CGC graded book after the change is almost like buying a book from PGX? -
LCSs worth visiting on my California Road Trip?
Semicentennial replied to piper's topic in Comics General
Jeff is definitely a character. The place is the weirdest comic book shop I've ever visited. Either the owner birds are squawking like crazy, him constantly smoking weed, or him blasting his radio to off the neighbors next door. -

Damn...that sucks. I hope he reimbursed you for the loss. I don't know if it's bad luck or just karma. The guy can sometimes be a jerk to his customers. A few years ago he got sucker punched by a guy that just walked into his store. For a location that doesn't seem so bad, it sure is ghetto. -

I don't know about that. He told me once that one of his trusted customers ripped off a bunch of his higher dollar books. -

I picked up a few good books from his bins. I picked up 2 caliber presents #1 cheap. They graded 9.4. Nothing really expensive ($500+ books) in those bins. -

I haven't been there since before the pandemic. The last time I was there the bird was flying around and crappedal on some of his books. -

Yeah, he is really weird about his books. I went through his expensive boxes on my first visit, but the next time I went he wouldn't let me look at any of the books. -

J N J Comics in Fountain Valley was my go to place for Golden/Silver Age pre-pandemic. They have about 30-40 boxes of "wall" stuff comics hidden in long boxes on one side of the store, and a few hundred boxes of run type books in his bins. The prices are pretty reasonable and the owner has worked with me on pricing on most of the stuff I bought from him. Kind of old school feel to the shop and it does have that old comic book store smell to it...when it doesn't smell like weed. -
Absolutely not. The buyer's action severely impacted the seller's ability to get paid in a timely manner from Paypal. The buyer's behavior throughout this transaction appears to have been a nightmare for the seller, and once the matter was settled between the two of them, the seller will continue to feel the impact on what the buyer did to him. HOS is where he should be.

Does Expertise/Experience no longer matter to be a dealer?
Semicentennial replied to Krydel4's topic in Comics General
Very generous of you to try to help people out in need especially after Covid. Wouldn't you think a really young guy selling at a con, who you've never seen at a con, should have been given the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was just new to the game and just learning the ropes? It seems you expected the seller to kiss your to try to get your sale.
