  1. Not the action labs one, right? No. That is vol.2 mini and vol.3 ongoing. Those books have lots of variants and are found common as dirt. Vol 1 is impossible and really don't look for its that hard to find. V2 is tough not impossible as I have found some, but very tough. V3 sells well for me when I find them in $1 boxes. It has a cult following. These books have a lot of variant covers plus they've reused some of their older covers with later volumes which adds to the confusion. These are the covers for Vol.1 #1 and Vol.2 #1. The cover for Vol.2 #1 was been used on another one of their books under Action Lab. [/img]
  2. No, not the Action Lab ones. The Vol.1 1st print was through ComicExpress and I believe the 2nd prints were through SR Distro. I think the Action Lab copies are either Vol. 3 or Vol. 4.
  3. I've only seen one copy of Zombie Tramp Vol. 1 #1, 1st print. Super rare and tough book to find since there were less than 100 copies printed.
  4. I saw it this morning. Thought it was good and would have probably enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen any of the trailers. As mentioned by others, the trailers gave a lot away in the movie. One part I thought was pretty cool was when Superman was floating in space after the nuke blew up. I thought for the few seconds he was out there that he looked a lot like Bizarro. I'm curious on how they're going to do the resurrection. It look like the dirt on the coffin levitated just before the screen went black at the very end of the movie.
  5. I go through M&M Comics. They offer discounts up to 50% with 35% discounts for most books. I don't know their shipping frequency but I get mine once a month. I've used them for several years and have received 9.8 copies. I did have an issue once with not shipping a book and they just wound up crediting me the cost of the book instead of shipping a replacement. http://www.mmcomics.com/
  6. I still don't understand your situation here. You seem not to appreciate the time and effort people are putting in to give you feedback on what to do. Your home situation is confusing as hell...you're paying rent to your parents who are supposedly successful but you're trying to the the first in many generations to get out of poverty. Didn't you mention before how successful your dad was and that he sold his business but your family has been living in poverty for many generations? So many inconsistencies in your story.
  7. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. So are you going to use any of the information I gave you over PM? Of course I will use it you made me sound professional and not cookie cutter. I'll be going to see her because I'm curious to see what she says about my resume if she says it's fine she's full of bs. One of the classes I had to take for my master's degree focused on writing a proper resume. I have edited dozens for friends and co-workers, so feel free to send me yours if you want someone else to look it over. It's amazing the garbage that people turn in, even for high level white collar positions. A properly worded and organized resume can be a huge step up, or a huge step down. I'll pm you later as I think my resume is good but never hurts to have another set of eyes on it. Jeez...how many other people's time are you going to waste on this? You asked me yesterday about reviewing your resume and I spent about an hour with you on it. I don't know how many other people you've asked to look over your resume. Seems like everyone is putting in more effort in helping you succeed than the effort you're putting in to get things done.

  9. Gabriel, If you're handing off your resume to an employer then how you present yourself will absolutely impact your ability to get an interview with them. You shouldn't practice proper grooming habits in order to keep a job, but rather you should practice proper grooming habit to get a job and retain a job. If they're hiring you only because they're "desperate" then they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Team members are in the field and are the face of the company. If you don't think your appearance doesn't matter until after you are hired then your cycle of finding employment will continue.
  10. I'm not sure if this has been asked but have you attended any career fairs at any local community colleges, high schools, or city sponsored events? I've recruited at these places and I've had a lot of luck finding interns and management applicants at state and universities. I've had some luck hiring entry level clerks who dropped off applications at smaller events too. Just remember if you do go to these events that you dress professionally and do some background on the company. Since its difficult to remember every person who drops off their resume, I usually put some marks on the back of the resume. "X" means no and a check mark means yes. If the person dropping off their resume looks professional, knows a little about the company, and actually ask about the job and position then I would put a check mark. If the person just seems like they're there just to drop off an application and doesn't seem to care about the position then its an "X". When I'm recruiting I'm looking for someone that is above the other students and when we're talking face to face, that is their first interview, and part of the screening process, whether they know it or not. One last thing is if you go to the career fairs, don't walk up to the table eyeballing the freebies or walk up with a bag filled with stuff you grabbed from other tables. You should be going up to the employer to inquire about a job and not about getting free loot. I can't tell you how many times I've had college students with bags of loot ask me at these events, "Oh wow, what's that? Is it free?" I just wish I can respond back "Its a freaking pen...and don't you think you have enough already?"
  11. I'll keep that in mind as Bill Dewees told me the same thing. Some jobs I can't call since it's says I'm not allowed to but most of them I can and thanks. If your application is very good and they have an opening, they'll call. If your application contains a bunch of red flags such as multiple jobs in a short period of time, inflexible availability, involuntary termination, etc. then calling them will do no good since they would probably not view you as being good candidate. Unfortunately, based on what you've said about why you've left your previous job, I don't see you as a good candidate. It cost money to hire and a lot of time to train a team member. If the many issues you've had since signing onto the board is reflection of how your life is then I really hope for the best for you. I think you need to man up and deal with your situation differently than how you've handled it in the past.
  12. I remember a comic book dealer at a flea market with the cellophane covered books. He claimed that's how they were made and if I recall they were mostly western comics.
  13. Just because you're dropping off resumes doesn't mean they'll look at it. Have you ever thought that the places you're applying to only accepts online applications? When I was hiring I would always check to see who applied online. We stopped using paper application years ago and with the online apps, it screened out a lot of the unqualified candidates so it freed up my time to do other things. I never wasted my time with those who just dropped off resumes because if they weren't good enough to pass an online skills assessment then I'd be wasting my time with the interview. If you're filling out online applications then maybe your application is getting rejected because of something on your assessment or restrictions. I've had so many applicants call to ask why they never got a call back and most of the time it's because their application was automatically rejected due to their work restrictions (wanting weekends and nights off, can only work on shifts that I don't have openings, or huge red flags such as having multiple jobs in a short period of time) or failing to pass a simple skills assessment.
  14. I think this might be a good case that NHS#38 is not her first appearance. I recently picked up a copy of Warrior Nun Areala Ashcan and in the book it goes over a brief history of the character including listing her first appearance as NHS#37, not #38, at the bottom of the article. The problem with the article is that it says the Magic Priest, David Crowe, is introduced for the first time and fights the demon Stanley in issue #36, but that too is incorrect because it doesn't happen until issue #37. So if #37 is her first appearance will it ever be accepted as her first appearance or will #38 still be considered her first even though she never appears in the book?
  15. Here is the description on quite a few sites listing her first appearance. Areala (as "Shannon") and Father Crowe (as "Magic Priest") made their first appearances in Ninja High School #38, also written by Warrior Nun creator Ben Dunn. Shannon shares the same last name as the witch Mimi Masters in Ninja High School. No where do any of the above names appear in issue 38 however the characters Shanna and David Crowe appear in issue 37. I've looked through my #38 and cannot find anyone that even resemble Areala except on the cover but that character also appears on at least two other covers besides #38. Here are the covers.
  16. That's what I thought too but the same character appears on the cover of #34, 36, and 37. I think the character is Mimi Masters and notShannon Masters.
  17. Well issue #38 has noting that is described on any of the websites listing #38 as her 1st appearance. #37 has a story that is similar to what is described as her first appearance but there is no character in #38 named Shannon Masters, just a character named Shanna.
  18. Does anyone know which comic she first appeared in? Almost every site shows Ninja High School #38 as her 1st appearance but it isn't. Thanks.
  19. I totally agree with this. While employees aren't supposed to discriminate when hiring, you represent their brand and if you come in looking unkempt then you'll have a hard time convincing them they should hire you. Other than college recruitment, I haven't received an unsolicited resume in quite some time. Maybe you should consider looking to see if the place you are applying to has an online application process. Dropping off a resume doesn't do much good if they only take applications on line. That could probably explain why you haven't received a call back.
  20. The comic shops that around me have wall books but every time I find something good they jack up the price and they say they can't budge on it any tips? You're probably better off at checking the bin books vs. wall books if you want to make some money. You're going to pay FMV on the wall books whereas there could be some gems hiding in the bins.
  21. I think taking a break from the selling part is the best thing for you. You're trying way too hard to make money, and to prove something to yourself, in comics but you're not putting in the time it takes to learn the hobby. You are right but I still need to sell the comics I have it's just I never had this much pressure to sell something as I don't have a job yet and my money will run out. About the hobby I do have lots to learn but I'm making a effort to learn things. I get it kid. PM me about the books you have for sale and what you want for it. I saw a book or two that I might be interested in.
