  1. That's what I'm trying to change and I only have one consignment sent to me so far I'm just really surprised that the seller has so much trust in you considering all of the red flags (no job, moving from place to place, no track record, etc.).
  2. To be fair, its also not practical to deal comics when you don't have any money, don't have a huge collection to begin with, don't have a ton of comic knowledge, and very little business experience and education, very few comic connections, don't live in America, and live with your parents. So I would say moving around a bit frequently is much less of an issue. That's almost right...I don't have a job but I do have health coverage for everything but prescription drugs and I don't leech off my dad since he lost he's job and he's on ei as is my mom which means he doesn't make as much so I pay for more things than I used to before. You sound like a good kid but how will an unemployed kid with very little knowledge of this hobby help with his unemployed parents? You should probably just find a job and worry about selling books later. Set your priorities man.
  3. I lost out on an auction and noticed the book was relisted. Upon checking the bids, I saw that the winning buyer had won not only the auction I placed a bid on but several other auctions and those auctions were also relisted. Out of the 216 bids that were placed in the last 30 days, this buyer bid on 55 items with 100% of the bids with this seller. Do these seem legit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-Full-Run-299-309-296-300-301-306-1st-Venom-McFarlane-/181807205669?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a548dcd25 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-1-21-Lot-Night-Of-The-Owls-Death-Of-The-Family-Zero-Year-SDCC-Excl-/181860653653?hash=item2a57bd5a55 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-608-619-Full-Run-Hush-Lot-Signed-By-Jim-Lee-612-With-Superman-DC-NM-/181860512138?hash=item2a57bb318a http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=181796371438&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uncanny-X-Men-Bronze-Age-97-113-118-/181777415067?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a52c73b9b http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-Full-Run-310-319-McFarlane-Venom-/181807218289?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a548dfe71
  4. Just received a a book I bought from Roger. The book was very well packed and was as described. Great transaction.
  5. I heard it was getting crazy money back then. I'll probably dig through my old CVM to see what shops were getting for them back then.
  6. This was my "grail" back when it came out. Finally picked one up last year. The comic shop I used to visit had one for $200 when it came out but no one ever saw it. Its a shame this book hasn't gone up much from that. I paid less for mine,.last year, than what it was going for in the mid/late 80s.
  7. I was at a shop a few weeks back and a collector was there to show off a sample of books he was trying to sell off. He had a stack of maybe 20-30 copies IG #1 and Spiderman #1 in the boxes he brought in. He said he had more at home. He said he bought a ton of books in the 80s when he was a kid. Supposedly he inherited some money and blew it all on new comic books but had no idea what he was doing. Unfortunately the books he brought in had water damage from being kept in storage.
  8. Worlds Finest 257 also mentions Black Adam by name, hidden in a jail cell. Black Adam also appears in WF 264 and 267 which came out before DCP #49.
  9. I actually don't think your expectation is unreasonable, but you two had agreed to proceed with the sales on different terms than "claim, pay, and ship". I too would be impatient if I had a sale go for as long as you did, but if I had a buyer that was going to take a while to pay for a book, unless its a high dollar book, I'd probably decline the sale.
  10. I don't blame the buyer for leaving a neg kudos. Sounds a little childish to back out from an agreed upon sale and then ignore the buyer. Too bad the neg won't stay.
  11. His original PM to you said "no color touch by me" followed by saying he purchased it unrestored from a reputable dealer made it seem a little suspicious. Can't believe he actually thinks his rep was damaged because he defended your rights to remain anonymous.
  12. One of the options that was offered was to ship the book for $150 and call it even but it looks like that too is off the table. This guy deserves to be on PL/HOS for his actions.
  13. Probably because they were pretty cheap and had a Masters of the Universe insert (similar to Wonder Woman 297 and DC Comics Presents 51).
  14. Prior to this incident, the PM he posted stated he had another transaction which resulted in a refund to the buyer. Pretty rocky start for this seller.
  15. The seller seems to like to hold others accountable for his sales. He pretty much blamed the original seller for failing to disclose any restoration and then the buyer for not coming forward. With business practices such as this he won't last long.
  16. While this might be minor compared to the color touch/trim issue, but what about the DC Comics Presents #49 which was claimed as Black Adam's 2nd appearance. The book is probably his 4th or 5th Bronze Age appearance. I can understand him not knowing how to detect restoration but what about character appearances?
  17. So whats the best way to handle something like this? I saw another of the sellers thread that listed a book as the 2nd appearance of a character which it wasn't. The book had sold to a buyer who probably based their purchase on the description of the book.
  18. Was there an announcement regarding NM #98? There was one up for sale and 10 minutes later the price went up $25.
  19. I need a cover to More Fun #52. If you have one let me know the price.
