To me this is a nice looking 6.0. - small 1/4 inch tear or so below the S is ISSUE at the bottom.

Well I found a comic that belonged to someone else before... I found a Superman comic book from the mid-60s that had Shelton Drum written in the top margin. I emailed him at Heroes (I think I had taken a scan of his name in it) and asked if he wanted it back, he said he would like it so at the Heroes Con that year (probably sometime early 2000s) I found him and gave it back to him. Only about 35-40 years since he wrote his name in it. I wish I had found one of mine from the 60s, I traded enough off when I was young.

Here are my thoughts and my plans and what I told my wife to do. Anything of higher value I slab. I have told her to simply call ComicLink with a list of the slabbed books and grades. Drop them off at a nearby show to them (where they are present) and then sell in their auctions. Minus the show fee to get in and the 10% fee she gets about 90% of the value. This is for her convenience to sell and get the highest price possible for the good stuff. I have dealt with comiclink several times, buying and selling, and they have always been great. She doesn't have to call several dealers only one and the books go to auction. Doesn't have to worry about being ripped off and gets the money in 2-3 months. The non-slabed books I have given her a value and told her what dealer that I trust to call and accept their offer. Just accept it, it's not worth the trouble.There are a lot of good books still in there. I understand dealers need to make a profit, that is why the slabbed books go to Comiclink, and the others take the offer.

To me it appears to be the wear of the comic being read several times. You can see other wear and creases by the staples. A recessed staple goes into the spine, it is usually manufacturing defect. See the picture below from another thread. James Lawry - a "popped" staple is not connected to the cover at all. Another way of saying the same thing is the cover is not attached at the bottom (or top) staple.

The third picture - look at the signature at the top (it appears cut by trimming) - after production of course. There is also something odd about it's placement if it's not trimmed being so close to the edge so I'm going with trimmed at least on this edge.

Production related: there are other threads/posts about similar books. Printer had to meet a certain production number and some covers were hand stapled to issues that somehow didn't get a cover during the run. IIRC. It is a legit book, I have had a Daredevil and a Wolverine Mini-series books with similar staples/covers.
